Hal POV
Lying face up in my bed I exhale deeply. For once, I feel as though my life has finally slowed down again.
It is a weird feeling however. These weeks have felt both extremely long, but also like an eternity.
Of course, despite my lights being completely shut off, I can still see my ceiling due to my new vampire abilities. So far, better vision is thankfully still the only attribute that I've gained, and honestly, I wouldn't mind keeping this.
According to Valorie, if I don't fully complete my transformation though, I will revert to fully human.
I did find Minoru this morning by the way. Blissfully half-way inside his locker, holding his phone.
When I asked him about what, and who he let his tongue slip to, he admitted to telling Gabriel, since Gabriel had apparently already harbored some level of suspicion, so he thought that he might as well. Thankfully though, after talking to both of them, I have confirmed that at least for now, my secret is safe.
Continuing to stare up, an uneasy feeling begins to fester. Holding up my phone, I once again confirm that I've received no new messages, nor missed calls. Not from Valorie.. Not from Inesa.. Not even my sister, who said she'd be out late with friends.
Well.. It is almost nine in the evening. While I rationalize that no normal person sends messages this late, I remember that none of the aforementioned people are normal. The closest to normal would be my sister, and anyone who has siblings knows: they aren't normal.
Regardless of what anyone else is doing, I decide to make the most of the situation.
Walking over to my desk, I lean over in order to hold down the small circle button on my stationary pc. It's been ages since I last had the time to play a game. Prior to meeting Inesa, gaming had served almost as a daily ritual for me. I got home, rushed through studies, and ended the evening with a good session of Yggdrasil or CS, depending on my mood.
When the blue windows screen finishes loading, I am taken to the login screen, which without barely thinking, I breeze through and fire up Yggdrasil before allowing it to check for updates.
Surprisingly there isn't. And I am able to start the game without barely any wait.
The familiar music begins to play, and when asked for my login, I once again breeze through it.
Username: Phonos Vic. Password: civsonohp, my username backwards. An awful password, but somehow I haven't gotten hacked yet.*
Before I start my gaming session though, I also decide to do the responsible thing and set one hour on my phone timer.
...
Two hours later, and I finally log off. While I didn't really do much interesting aside from grinding levels, and going way above my self-allotted time, it does feel good to be back in my somewhat normal life.
The only downside is that my over-sensitized eyes hurt way more than normal from my bright screen.
*Phonos Vic is a reference to another one of my books Re:Con quest.

A/N
It became a bit of a shorter chapter today, since despite my exhaustion from a long day, I was stubborn enough to forge ahead. (Don't worry, I'm taking care of my heath)*
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who's made it this far! While chapter 67 isn't an even number for a milestone, I was just thinking that I don't give out enough thanks. I mean.. According to Wattpad, TSP is supposed to take FIVE AND A HALF HOURS to read from start to finish.. Crazy.. Y'all insane.
Whilst today I only wrote this mini chapter, taking a quick peak at Hal being bored, I have done a bunch of work behind the scenes. AND I am really proud of myself for having finished planning the ending for The Succubus's Plaything. (At least book 1) Although admittedly.. It is still a huge possibility that I'll completely and utterly derail my beautiful plans at some point..
BUT as I said. I don't give enough thanks. So THANK YOU again everyone!! This journey spanning over a year and a half now has been incredible, me having gone from hesitantly jotting down my first ever prologue, to now being 67 chapter deep, as well as having worked/working on several other books simultaneously.
I give you all my word that I will continue to do my best in bringing you all my best work, that'll hopefully continue to grow even more entertaining.
*Valorie is forcing me to say this help..
