Inesa POV
"Sleepover?" Niko suggests, sheepishly looking up at me from the table that she's leaning on.
I sigh. Not that I regret it, since I've had fun, but our quick window shopping turned into an all-day endeavor. Well.. Now it's looking to turn into an all-nighter as well.
"My place or yours?"
"Yours? Your mom is way more chill than mine."
"That's true.." I sweatdrop. Although, arguably she's a bit too chill sometimes..
"Then it's settled." She leans her head against the table once again, not waiting for my reply. She knows me well enough to know that I'd say yes anyway.
I pull up my phone, quickly typing a text to Mom, asking if she can pick us up. Despite the time, I have no doubt that she's wide awake.
Sure enough. Just seconds later, my phone begins to buzz in my hand.
"Hey Mom, I texted, but I was wondering if you could pick up Niko and I? We were thinking of having a sleepover."
Without hesitation, and without missing a beat, her answer comes immediately. "Sure. Where are you?"
Through the phone I hear the sound of a zipper and cloth being shaken. I don't even want to ask. In the background I feel like I hear a soft man's voice, although I could be mistaken.
"Sukiya."
"Alright. I'm nearby, so I'll be right over. Seeya!"
"See-" I begin, but just as quickly as she had called, the connection is severed when Mom hangs up. Hmf.
"So?" Niko inquires, having only heard my end.
"She's cool with it. She'll be here to pick us up."
"Great! I am noot feeling the train right now. The only people who ride them at this time are drunks, weirdos, and a few late workers."
I sweat drop, remembering that it was on such a train when I first kidnapped Hal. I don't count as one of those weirdos right?.. I guess I probably do..
...
Not long after making the call, Mom pulls up, suggesting that she was already in the area.
Quickly Niko and I get in the car, both of us in the back.
"No-one is going to sit up here with me? She teasingly asks."
Normally I would, but since it would be rude to make Niko sit in the back alone I don't.
"You know how it is." I state in a tone slightly colder than I had intended. In response, Valorie just shrugs.
...
Having reached the top of the stairs, and burst into my room in a fashion that would've been unthinkable had we not been as close as we are, Niko tosses her backpack sloppily next to my bed.
Given my bed's size, Niko and I will simply share, which is what we've also done in the past.
Her energy level seems to suddenly calm down, and pausing, Niko scans her vision across my room. "If you were to get a boyfriend, would he come here, or would you go over to his place?" Niko asks abruptly.
"Heh!? Where'd that come from!?" My eyes widen from surprise, despite the question being completely in line with Niko's personality.
"I'm just curious. Your room couldn't get more girly even if you tried your hardest. Don't you think it would be off-putting for a guy? Nowadays most guys are more into the "pretty but tomboy" type." She once more goes silent before adding; "No offense".
