"just keep pushing, you're almost there!"
y/n closes her eyes and pushes again, her body wracked with pain as she tries to keep breathing. she can't stop the tears from streaming down her face, and she clutches hyunjin's hand even tighter.
the nurses keep up their encouragement, smiling at y/n in order to try and keep her calm. "you're so close, dear!" one of them says. "you're almost there!"
"i'm trying," y/n says through tears, her voice hoarse as she pushes again.
hyunjin strokes her hair and smiles at her reassuringly. "i know you are, dear," he responds. "you're doing a great job. just keep pushing, okay?"
y/n nods and tries another push, squeezing hyunjin's hand even tighter as tears keep rolling down her face. after a few more pushes, she finally hears the words she's been praying to hear. "i see him," one of the nurses says. "the head is coming!"
y/n pushes again and a baby boy finally emerges from her body. the nurses quickly clean and wrap the baby in a blanket, then gently lay her in y/n's arms.
hyunjin looks down at them both and smiles softly, his eyes filled with pride. "you did it, love."
y/n looks down at her baby boy, tears streaming down her face as she holds him to her chest. "it's over," she says, her voice hoarse but relieved. "he's here."
she gently wraps her arms around her daughter and nuzzles her forehead against the baby's. "he's handsome," she says softly.
hyunjin walks over and gently wraps his arms around y/n and their son, smiling down at the two of them. "you did so well..." he says. "you're right. he's handsome, just like me."
y/n let out a soft laugh as both of them shared a quick, relieving kiss.
[ timeskip ]
y/n's mother and hyunjin's parents come to visit y/n and the baby girl, and it's a tearful reunion. y/n's mother rushes over to hug her daughter and the new grandchild, crying tears of joy. hyunjin's parents come over and hug y/n as well, smiling at the baby and praising her for her resilience during the pregnancy and delivery.
it's a heartwarming and emotional moment, and all of them are so happy to finally be able to meet the new addition to their family.
"where's father...?" y/n asked, looking out for her father even though she got insulted by her father. y/n just couldn't let herself hate her own father.
the sudden question left her mother and hyunjin's parents speechless as her mother think of something that could make her daughter calm down.
"he's not here today, y/n," her mother responds, avoiding y/n's question. "he was very busy with work, you know how he loves his job..."
