y/n sat on the sofa, feeling nervous. she didn't want to cry, not in public. she was going to meet a guy her mother knew — she hoped everything would be alright.

before that, y/n had an argument with her mother. she told her mother she didn’t want to go, but in the end, she ended up crying like a baby and her mother had to comfort her.

suddenly, someone sat down in front of y/n. she looked up to see who it was - it was the guy that her mother wanted her to date.

"i'm sorry, i'm late," he said, apologizing and scratching the back of his neck. "something came up on my way here," he added and gave a shy smile.

as y/n glanced at him, she noticed some dirt on the knees of his pants. "it's fine, really," she said. as long as he wasn't lying, this was no big deal.

"how long have you been here?" he asked, adjusting his suit and tie. "i'm so sorry i kept you waiting and came here unprepared."

y/n found him charming and attractive - not only because of his looks, but also because of his personality.

"ten minutes," she answered as the waiter approached them and began taking their orders.

the waiter walked away from them after took their orders, y/n took a deep breath to steady herself. She was feeling nervous, but she was determined to make a good impression on him. "so," she began, trying to sound more confident than she felt, "how long have you known my mother?"

the guy looked at y/n with a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "not too long, actually," he replied, trying to keep the conversation going. "i don't think we've been introduced before, have we?" he asked, his eyes locking onto hers.

"no, i don't think we've officially met," she said, trying to sound cool and calm. "what's your name?" she added, hoping to shift the conversation to something more neutral.

"hyunjin," he said, his voice gentle and reassuring. "hwang hyunjin. that's my full name," he added with a small smile.

"it's nice to meet you, hyunjin," she said, giving him a small smile in return. "my name is y/n," she added, hoping he would respond in kind.

hyunjin chuckled softly, nodding. "it's a pleasure to meet you, y/n," he replied, his tone friendly and warm. he reached out his hand to hers, taking her hand and giving it a soft squeeze.

y/n felt a small butterfly flutter in her stomach at the simple gesture of kindness. she smiled at him, her heart warming at the connection they were forming.

the waiter then arrived with their food, setting it down on the table before them. y/n was so focused on hyunjin that she barely noticed the food. she found herself staring into his eyes, hypnotized by his kindness and charm – it was easy to forget the tension of their earlier conversation as they talked and laughed together over their meal.

y/n had never felt so at ease with a guy before – maybe her mother's plan wasn't that bad.

As they finished their meal, Y/N could feel her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't believe that she was going to ask him... and yet, here she was. "Hyunjin..." she started, taking a deep breath to steel herself. "I really enjoyed spending time with you tonight."

Hyunjin smiled at her, his gaze lingering on her face for what felt like an eternity. Y/N felt herself blushing, her heart racing. She could barely breathe as she waited for his response. Finally, he spoke, his voice low and husky. "I enjoyed spending time with you, too," he said softly. "May I... may I see you again?"

Y/N's heart swelled with happiness at his words. She couldn't believe that he wanted to see her again. "Yes," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'd love to see you again, Hyunjin."

y/n hopped in hyunjin's car, and he started the engine. y/n buckled her seatbelt and leaned back in her seat, feeling relieved that the night had gone so well.

hyunjin started driving, taking the highway and navigating through the night traffic. they rode in comfortable silence for a while before hyunjin broke the silence. "i had a really good time tonight," he said, turning to her.

"i had a great time, too," she replied — y/n couldn't help but steal glances at hyunjin's profile. he was so handsome, with his strong jawline and intense gaze. she was starting to fall for him, even though she knew it was ridiculous to do so after just one date.

time passes, the car pulled up to y/n's house, hyunjin reached over and held her hand. y/n felt a shiver run down her spine at his touch. she could barely believe what was happening. it was like a dream come true.

hyunjin turned to her, a small smile on his face. "can i see you again?" he asked, his tone serious.

y/n nodded, feeling a lump form in her throat. "yes," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

hyunjin leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek, making y/n feel weak in the knees. he pulled away and waved goodbye before driving off, leaving her standing on the porch with a stupid smile plastered on her face. y/n was in shock. she couldn't believe what had just happened. she had just spent an amazing evening with the most wonderful and charming boy she had ever met, and hyunjin was going to see her again.

"looks like someone is head over heels"

y/n jumped at the sound of her mother's voice, realizing that she had been so lost in thought that she hadn't noticed her mother standing there. "h-head over heels?" y/n repeated, still feeling the warm sensation of the kiss on her cheek. "no, i'm just.... uh...." y/n trailed off, not knowing how to put her feelings into words.

"well, whatever it is, it looks like you're completely smitten with that guy," her mother said with a small smile.

y/n felt her cheeks flush at the memory of the kiss. she couldn't deny it — she was head over heels for hyunjin. but she still didn't know how to put it into words.

"i guess... i guess i am," y/n admitted, surprising even herself with her honesty. "he's just... he's so charming and kind. i can't help but to be drawn to him." y/n was surprised at how easily the words came pouring out, as if she had been keeping them locked up inside for too long.

y/n's mother just smiled at her, understanding and empathy clear in her eyes. "i can see that," she said. "and it's okay to be excited - you're young and in love. enjoy it while it lasts," she added with a small wink.

y/n felt a wave of love and gratitude towards her mother, grateful for her understanding and support. she had always been there for her, no matter what.
