Chapter 19 Annoyance

Hmm... I wonder where these gauntlets could be... Mariya thought to herself as she was scouting a nearby village on a treetop. My master has to give me more clues than seeking out the colour the gauntlets... I mean anyone could have them!

She closed her eyes and remembered the conversation before leaving the castle.

"Mariya... Mariya..."

"Yes, master?"

"I need you... to do something for me..."

"I told you before, that my life is yours. I will do anything for you."

My master chuckled under his breath, "Ah yes... of course. You are my child after all..."

Mariya smiled in response as she knew that she was in good hands.

"I need you to seek out the gauntlets that we've talked about earlier..."

"Why me?"

"Those gauntlets have special powers in which you can utilize with ease, Mariya." He said confidently, "I made you have those blades grow out of your arms for this reason. Since you are already comfortable with the weapons, you will become unstoppable!"

"However, it is guarded by one of the ancestors who once attempted to seal me away..." he grumbled under his breath and pointed at the map on the table with his scaly hand, "I want you to go within this vicinity to search for the weapon, also..." He looked up to me and I could feel his red eyes staring at me, "Seek and kill the wielder of the weapon... and return to me as soon as possible."

"There is one thing I would like to ask you, Master." she knelt down, "How would I know which gauntlets are the ones? With many generics lying around, it is bound to hidden!"

"I have fought with the one who held the gauntlets... and thinking about it every time made me enraged." He looked to the side and took a step forward standing beside Mariya. "I know that your blood will be boiling and you'll be enraged like me when you are near the source. You are my child after all..."

"Go now," he pointed to the exit, "Come back soon and don't disappoint me."

"Consider it done, Master."

...

This is what she was told days ago. She hasn't found any trace of these so called gauntlets that she was destined to have, nor anyone that seemed suspicious enough to wield them. She kept on spectating people on the treetops and made mental notes of who would be a candidate.

It wasn't hard thing to do, but she didn't realize how boring it could be. She literally was just counting heads of the people in the village, and that made her angry, especially at the fact most of people there were enjoying themselves.

She hated everything that the village resembled from the children laughing, to the youths helping their parents and people overall just going on with their lives. Mariya didn't know why it angered her so, but it just made her tick. She did have the power to eliminate everyone, but she wanted a strong fighter to challenge, not fodder. Hoping that she would come across the one who protected the gauntlets, she jumped off the tree and decided to search another area of the village.

"Gods... where the hell can this person be?" Mariya said as she landed on the ground. Brushing her hair back, she started walking forward. "I've been searching for days and I have no leads to where this person could be..."
