Chapter 15: Stolen

What... is this feeling... and... where am I? Canta looked around and saw that she surrounded in darkness. Confused about her position, she called out, "Master Tomomi, Master Mami, where are you? Can you please respond?"

Her voice echoed in the shadows and silence followed. Concerned about the safety of her masters, she floated forward in desperation, to find any sign of the girls. She continued shouting, "Master Tomomi, Master Mami, can you hear me?"

The fruitless search continued until she sensed a dark power. Stopping in her tracks, she quickly scouted side to side, trying to detect the evil power that was disturbing her. Where... is this thing? I know it's here somewhere... this coward!

Suddenly, a humanoid figure landed in front of Canta and pushed her back with the force of its hand. Spinning out of control due to the force, Canta managed to break her fall. Glaring at the figure, it stood tall wearing a black cloak and grinning. On its hands, were two steel like... gauntlets?

"Give them back!" a voice behind Canta shouted. Turning around, she was that a white with blonde hair that came out of the hood, silver daggers and the perfect face. Drips of blood were coming out from her mouth which stained her clothing.  Master Mami... why are you here?

Thoughts were interrupted when the black cloak taunted back, "Is that... all the White Phantom has to offer? This must be some kind of a joke!" it then rose its hands in a guard position and let out a couple of jabs. "If this is all you have to offer... your end is near..."

"Tch. Shut up, Mariya!" Mariya...? The innocent looking girl who wanted to help... Master Mami? Canta looked at the black cloak to get a better look at her, but there was no other distinct feature besides the silver gauntlets. She can't be... the one who I've been searching for...?

Mami was charging forward which left a trail of blood with two daggers in front of her. Mariya then made an X formation with closed fists in front of her face and threw them to the sides. The gauntlets suddenly changed its silver colour to being camoflouged. Looking closely, Canta saw that the gauntlets were emitting an evil aura. The gauntlets were somehow part of her body, as wicked blades grew out of her hands.

Being fully aware of the dangers, Canta quickly turned to Mami and shouted at her, "Master Mami, don't do it!"

Her shouts were ignored as Mami recklessly charged forward. Mariya stood there grinning while Mami leapt forward to perform killing blows to the head. When Mami was close, two great slashes were seen, but it was clear that she was attacking air.

"Foolish..." Mariya laughed out, "Did you really think that you could even lay a finger on me, when I am in my domain?!"

Mariya had counter attacked with a flurry of slashes which Mami somehow managed to block as sparks were lighting up the battlefield. "Is this all you have? Come on! I expected more out of you!"

No way... is she... toying with Master Mami? Is this... Mariya's true power?
