Prologue

“Hurry! We cannot hold it much longer!” a woman grunted while holding her lance, trying to subdue the creature. “It’s pretty damn strong!”

“You know Das, today would be a good…!” Herman sarcastically shouted back assisting Anne with the beast. “This is going to break free very soon… hurry the hell up!”

“Just hold on a little longer please! The charge is almost done!” Das yelled back as he held his sword skywards. “Canta! Please assist!”

Hearing his call, emerging from the bottle was a spirit that had a white robe with a purple hijab covering its blue body and face, with the exception of its gothic black eyes.

Coming out of the bottle, she then flew around Das three times in a circle like fashion and stopped in front of the sword he was raising to the sky.

Examining it carefully, she then circled around the sword in a spiral like fashion and once it reached the tip, the spirit shot up straight to the Heavens. Once she was out of sight, the cloudy skies were cleared and a divine light now shown on Das and his sword.

He could feel the sword was rapidly getting charged as his arm was getting heavier from the energy the Heavens have provided. He was also fatigued from that battle that happened moments earlier. After endless seconds of channeling, Canta came back from the Heavens.

“Master Das, the channeling is complete. The Gods have allowed a time limit of lending their powers to banish the Dark One.” Canta announced. “Your sword has the power to unleash a powerful shockwave that could potentially eliminate the evil… but it can only be used once… so please do be careful…”

Das smirked. “One shot is all I need!” he held the glowing sword with both of his hands on the right side. “Anne! Herman! Move out of the way!”

Das charged at the creature, who eventually broke free of the Anne’s and Herman’s grip. Taking notice of the charge, the creature readied itself in a defensive stance, in attempts to try and block the attack.

Fortunately for the three, the creature was not prepared for what was coming.

Das lowered his sword to the ground and he had the tip drag across the ground, leaving a trail of electricity in its path. When the creature was in close range, he stopped in his tracks and at the same time lifted the sword off the ground which released a holy shockwave.

The shockwave was so quick and unexpected, that the beast had no time to react. It made direct contact and sent it flying a good couple of meters. It was now defenseless as it lay on the ground.

“Now Das,” Canta shouted, “Insert the blade at its heart! Do it before it comes back to life!”

He nodded in response and once again started running at the beast. Once he reached it, he leapt in the air with the sword raised in the sky. The power of the sun once again charged the sword with endless amounts of energy. Right when Das dealt the killing blow, he shed a tear and muttered under his breath. “I’m sorry… Janus…”

Janus was screaming in pain. Das didn’t want to kill him, but he was not human. Even though his appearance looked very humanlike, his eyes gave a blood like stare at anyone who would dare to look. His black hair started to turn snow white and his peaceful demeanor changed into savagery. But what really made him look very different apart from a regular person was that he had a large shadow towering over him, if you looked close enough. That shadow had the resemblance of a demon that was hungry for souls. He had no choice but to end his misery. After stabbing him in the chest and the screams had ceased, a shadowy figure had escaped the body.
