• Chapter 9 Drowning •

Justin's POV

I woke up around 3am upset again not being able to sleep anymore. All the pain just rushed back the moment I woke up and the tears started to just pour out of my eyes like a waterfall. I couldn't hear myself or anything around me. I was just focused on how broken I felt.

Then I felt someone get into the bed with me and I could tell it was Mia. She just wrapped her arms around my waist and said, "It's okay, just let it all out."

And I swear Mia didn't have to say a lot to make me feel better. The little things she said just meant a lot to me. It's like she knew I didn't want to talk so she just held me until I stopped crying. She's definitely someone I really open up to and someone I'll always go to.

I got up and realized she had soon fell asleep on me. I decided to just let her sleep, considering I woke her up from my crying and she didn't ignore it like others would.

I needed a shower though, to clear my mind.

Once I got out of the shower I saw that it was around 7am, but the strange thing was that Mia wasn't anywhere to be found so I called her. I could hear her phone vibrating but I didn't know from where. I looked over to see her phone on the floor.

"Dammit, where'd she go?" I mumbled.

I quickly look up to see the door open and Mia with a bunch of..groceries?

"Mia what the hell, you scared me, why'd you leave?" I say worried.

"Sorry, I just wanted to go as quick as I could while you showered to go get plane tickets and groceries?" She said with a smile.

"Next time take your phone, but why'd you get plane tickets? We still have 2 more days here?" I asked kind of iffy.

"Justin, we're getting out of here and going home, you don't need to be here, not now. "She said looking down.

"..thanks Mia, you're truly amazing, I know you really love it here, but I promise to bring you back." I say giving her a smile as she smiled back.

"Now what'd you bring may I ask?" I say kind of curious.

"I actually didn't bring much, just a tub of ice cream made with wine in it lol. Ice cream and alcohol mixed together is like a cure for everything." She says while laughing.

"Thank you really. I really am starting to feel better. When's our flight?" I say as joyful as I could. Mia was making me feel better, but just for a few moments. Then I'd start to feel like I'm drowning again and but maybe the thought of this unique ice cream could help me clear my mind.

"It's tonight, 8pm. So be ready and you're welcome Justin." She says while handing me a little pint of wine ice cream.

*Later that night*

Mia's POV
"Justin you ready?" I ask Justin who was in the bathroom.

"Yeah let's go." He says while holding his bag.

We arrive to the airport and sit down until our flight got called. Surprisingly there wasn't a lot of people. Thankfully nobody spotted us, in general Justin.

"Justin, I know I probably shouldn't bring this up and all, but can you promise me something..?" I ask kind of scared.

"Depends Mia, what is it?" He ask worried.

"Promise me you won't build up a wall, a wall for your feeling and shut me out." I ask while tears start falling from my eyes.

Seeing Justin broken like this reminded me of when I lived with my dad. I started pushing the ones I love around me and I hated that. I hurt not only them, but myself. Justin puts his hand on my hand and made me look him eye to eye.

"I promise you Mia, don't worry. You don't have to be scared of losing me." He said with a smile.

I couldn't help, but smile. Justin is the one person Ive really care about in a long time. I mean yeah I have Kiara, but like I said, she's been distant lately.

*Flight 19 to California is now Boarding*

"That's our flight, lol now let's go home Mia." Justin says while grabbing our bag.
