"Goodmorning" Manasi said getting up from the dining table
"Goodmorning" Maitree said tugging her hair with a small smile sitting at the dinning table
"Did you sleep well?" Manasi asked after awkward few minutes
"Hmmm hmm" Maitree hummed nodding looking around
"Coffee?" Manasi asked and then suddenly added "or tea?"
"Coffee" Maitree said pointing at the coffee pot at the dining table
"Here you go" Manasi murmured pouring coffee into a cup and handing it to Maitree
"Sooooo" Maitree said taking a sip Manasi looked at her
"I was thinking about getting a DNA test" Maitree said in a quiet time
Manasi nodded as they both had coffee in silence.

"I applied for extended leave and asked another surgeon to take on the neuro- cardio patient" Rudra said looking at Maitree who was staring straight ahead at the roses
"Maitree" Rudra called her tucking her hair
"I dont even know what to talk to her about" Maitree said shaking her head still looking ahead "I had the most awkward breakfast this morning"
"Maitree you can come home with me" Rudra said in a soft tone. Maitree nodded saying "I was thinking about getting a DNA test done
"When do u want get the test done?"Rudra asked in a quiet tone
"As soon as possible" Maitree murmured
Rudra nodded and asked after a minute "Do you want to go out for dinner?
"What are your intentions Mr. Adhikari" Maitree turned to look at Rudra with a teasing smile
"considering that we are in a relationship" Rudra said returning the teasing smile "Then my intentions should be pretty clear, don't you think?" Rudra added, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Maitree chuckled softly and said "I can't tonight Sonakshi is coming" and looked at him saying "she wanted to be here for the DNA result"
Rudra nodded smiling "I called Di's hospital and got an appointment for DNA test"
"You did!" Maitree asked with wide excited and confused eyes
"Sonakshi called me this morning" Rudra said extending his arms and leaning on the arm rest on the swing pulling up his imaginary collar
"She called you" Maitree asked in confused tone
"Ofcourse" Rudra said and then continued saying "she is worried" in a soft tone
"Rudra I think she is my mother" Maitree said in a quiet tone
"I want you to be prepared just in case if she isn't" Rudra said in worried tone, Maitree nodded

Next Day
"When will we get the results?" Maitree asked, pressing a cotton ball against the spot where her blood had been drawn. She glanced at Rudra.
Rudra whispered, "In a couple of hours... I asked them to speed it up."
"Thanks," Maitree murmured, walking toward Manasi, who was standing by the counter, sipping water. Seeing Maitree, Manasi silently handed her a glass.
"Thank you," Maitree murmured, taking it.
Maitree sipped the water slowly, her fingers tightening around the glass. The silence between her and Manasi was heavy—filled with unspoken questions, lingering doubts, and the weight of everything that had led them here.
