You and Roman stood pressed against each other in the dark arena closet. He had his strong arm wrapped around your waist, one set of girthy fingers cupping your ass while the other cupped your jawline. You looked up at him, forehead pressed against his while you held his head in your hands as your slender fingers tangled in his jet black locks.
"Open your eyes." He whispered into you, muscular chest vibrating your skin. You obeyed, opening your eyes to have them meet his black orbs.
"I love you." He whispered once again, rubbing the pad of his thumb against your face. Your heart melted in half sadness at the confession. The truth is, neither of you were supposed to be in here. You guys weren't supposed to see each other. Your dad thought it would distract you from your training and schooling if you dated any of the wrestlers so it was strictly forbidden.
You obeyed your father in hopes to just complete your training and begin you career. But that, however, was interrupted the very first day you saw the man in front of you pounce around backstage preparing himself for his match - black hair tied up in a bun and chiseled abs on display for any who looked at him.
You initially thought it was just a little attraction, that it wasn't that serious. But the first time he spoke to you in that mellow rasp, you couldn't deny it anymore. The soft chivalry he walked around with, the politeness the manner in which he carried himself made him irresistible to you. It was a shame you wanted something so badly but had to hide away just to get your hands on it. You both had to sneak away from everyone just to get your hands on each other. It made you feel guilty as your family was tight knit and told each other everything.
The overwhelming feeling surrounded your chest. You couldn't bare keeping the secret from your family and friends anymore. The man you loved stood in front of you, embracing you as you hurried your head in his pecs. "We can't do this anymore, Ro." You whispered into him. His embrace loosening quickly before he regained himself, pulling back from you to look into your eyes.
"This again?" He started. "Why?" Your eyes flickered open, your head still buried in his warm embrace.
"I can't keep this from them like this babe...dad would never trust me again." You whispered, struggling to hold back the overflowing emotion that desired deeply to pour from your eyes - The thought of leaving him consuming your thoughts whole. You almost didn't think about the guilt you felt for lying to your dear father.
Roman's warm arms dropped from around you, the cold air that he protected you from smacking against your body ever so roughly. "Then why can't we just tell them?" He questioned as he peered into your eyes, begging for answers. At the sudden release of his embrace, you lifted your head from his chest.
"It'll never work.." you whisper. He scoffs, you've both been over this before yet your undying fear of being the 'disappointment' caused you to be as stubborn as ever. "Please, Y/N..think about what you want for once." He begged. "Don't you want to be with me?"
Your heart jolted, of course you wanted to be with him but...dad..
"Yes but-" you began before being cut off by his sultry voice.
"But nothing. That should be the end of it." He began. "This hurts. We spend the best few months together and then you hit me with this. Over and over again. You remember his words and try to leave me and I'm stuck begging for you. Begging you to stay." He ranted, hot beads of tears sliding down the soft tan skin under his left eye. This truly killed Roman to constantly feel like your love was on the scales. He just wanted you and he didn't care if he had to be fired just to get you.
He cupped your jaw yet again, this time in desperation. "I'm strung out here begging for you. We both know what it is you truly want. So pick, Do you want to please yourself? Or do you want to keep pleasing other people?" He gave you an ultimatum. You scoffed. Was he serious? How could he try and make you choose between him and your family?
"Roman, how can you ask me to choose between those two things. That's low." You replied, pushing away from him completely. Your emotions stacked maniacally in your brain, making it impossible to comprehend what you were even say at this point. You don't know why you got so offended at that, because you know it's true. All you e ever done was please others.
"I'm not asking you for that. I'm asking you what it is you want. Do you even love me like you say you do?" He replied, trying to inch closer to her. He knew in her heart that all he wanted was her, but it was like she didn't know if she wanted him or not. He was beginning to forget why she even entertained him. If it wasn't love, what was it?
Her eyes widened, mouth falling open in baffling shock as she gasped. "Yes I love you."
Roman crossed his arms. "Then why is it so hard for you to stay?" He asked. "Why do you always try to leave me.." Your heart broke at the pain in his voice. He'd never said anything this bad until now. Usually, he'd convince you to stay with him. He would tell you all the reasons he loved you a thousand times over if it meant he could keep you around - no matter how tedious it got.
This time, he failed to keep in how much it was hurting him that he had to convince you not to leave him over and over again. A desperate lover he was, only having his sights set on loving you for the rest of his life. He felt a deceiving sense of betrayal as you yet again said those unbearable words. 'We shouldn't be doing this.'
"Joseph, look at me. You called out to him, he sniffles at hearing his real name fall through your lips. His head hung low in defeat as he anticipated your next words. You cupped his head in your hands, connecting your gazes.
"My heart will only ever beat for you. When I am surrounded by the dark, looking up at the stars I'll only ever see you. I'll only ever love you for as long as I live." You staggered out, tears streaming from your eyes. You felt like this was what you had to do, it's not what your heart wanted but what your head told you it needed.
"Then stay." He murmured. "Just stay."
His eyes pierced your brick wall, you didn't want to leave him. Who cares how loud your father would yell, how betrayed your mother would feel. Who cares how anyone would feel. You loved him and that's all that you could ever think of. Even when you were sitting next to the very man who forbids you from ever loving anyone in the industry, you find yourself only yearning for Roman's touch.
"Joseph.." you whispered.
Before you could get anything else out, he eased his way toward you, embracing you once again and pressing his lips onto yours. He didn't want to hear you say anything else, he just wanted to feel you. He wanted to feel if you were telling him the truth or not. He wanted to clear the deception that raced through his brain before he made the biggest mistake of his life.
The two of you collided with each other, feeling each other in all the same places you've felt before. His hands dragged themselves up your body, wanting to feel the soft humming you let out into his mouth.
Lungs begging for air, the two of you pulled away in sync. You both rested your foreheads on each others, finding immense comfort in the skin to skin contact as you help each other close.
"I'll stay.." you whispered. Upon hearing this, Roman swiftly lifted you up and spun you around. You squealed as he kissed up and down your chest.
"I love you." You both whispered in sync.
