Y/n: "Comfort in crisis. It's something you need more of."Ela: "Where are you going? Aren't you supposed to check in?"
Y/n: * to self* "why do I even bother?"
I sighed in annoyance and spun around while slowly walking backwards.
Y/n: "I supposed it's the correct thing to do, but we don't always work like that. Well, I don't always work like that. They'll radio in if they need me. Until then, I'll be securing the outside of this establishment. After that, I'll head back to report anything I'll come across. Assuming that there IS something to come across."
I turned and continued walking away. While doing so, Ela decided to catch up to me. Staying close by my side. A little too close.
Y/n: "We have this" *spreads arms* "whole road ahead of us, ya know?"
Ela: "Yep."
We stopped on the corner of the side walk. For whatever reason, waiting to cross.
Y/n: "There's going to be some space between us and the establishment."
Ela: "Uh huh. Go on"
Y/n: "Which means that enemies can get between us and the settlement, right?"
Ela: "Correct."
The lights change and we receive the signal to cross.
Y/n: "And if we're close together, it makes it easier to hit both of us instead of one of us."
Ela: "Yup."
Y/n: "So, we should maintain some type of dispersion?"
Ela: "Seems right to me."
Y/n: "So, if it makes sense, give me some space?"
Ela: "What do you me-"
A gunshot echoed though the street. Ela scurried to the nearest vehicle. Another shot echoed. Landing about a foot way from the Rainbow operative.
"Sniper, direct front! 3rd floor, center window! About 250m out!
Ela began to fire small, but accurate burst towards the assailant. She threw a smoke grenade to obscure her position to the sniper.
"Let's use the buildings to maneuver!"
After completing her sentence, she looked back and didn't see me.
Ela: "Popisujesz się."
She popped smoke again and moved further toward the gunfire. She cruised through the space between her and the sniper until she reached the entryway.
As soon as she entered, the sound of something bouncing reached her ears. A grenade landed behind her. She leapt into a nearby room, waiting for the explosion. 7 seconds pass and nothing happened.
