I just got word from a guy of the attack they just did on one of our patrols. I don't even think they realized what they just did. We may have not declared war on them publicly but everyone knew what was going to happen. What we were about to do. What we were about to witness. Maybe they didn't declare it as a last ditch effort to keep who we really were a secret? What a waste. Zerdierians they call us. Ha! We are Terrans. And if they have to figure that out by being at war with us. Well there's only one way how that will end. You know what I mean...right?

Zeridian
Every ship in orbit around Zeridian was more alert than usual. Swarms of fighters and pelicans were seen everywhere as they moved past the numerous capital ships. And what was more unusual was the many transport ships leaving the planet and disappearing into slipspace. But even with the dozens of transport ships leaving, dozens of capital ships entering the system took their place and before long it started to be crowded with ships.
On board the eternity the admiral as well as parts of the crew were looking back at footage of the battle, studying how they fought. Not just the Republic but also the separatist. He was given the go ahead to protect Zeridian by any means necessary. He was even given numerous ships to be put under his command to reinforce their borders. Some were even entering slip space about to cause havoc somewhere.
Both factions going into their territory and destroying their ships was their last straw. Two heavy frigates had lost all their crews in their destruction and even more from the three heavily damaged ships that had somehow survived after being wedged between two fleets. The death toll was already over 500 and was still climbing up after verifying the crew members who were on board and the small number of Marines and ODSTs on the ships. Some didn't even have remains.
Because of this they had started to aggressively defend their territory even more. Now it was shoot on sight. Not that the Republic or separatist knew of this yet.
The ship's AI then appeared as a huge display of the galaxy showed up. Not only did it show every planet that they knew of. But also the major hyperlanes that they used.
"I mapped out everything you asked for sir. There's still a lot of missing things but this was the most accurate I could make it."
The admiral studied the map as it was full of known planets, hyperplanes, last seen fleets, and many more before looking at the other half of the galaxy. It was empty.
"What about the other half?"
"Not explored at least from what I know of their history so far. From what they say there are no charted space lanes for them to safely navigate in. I don't think they have reasons to explore it anytime soon." The AI then looked at the map it created and looked at the admiral.
"Flanking them and then trapping them from behind? I don't know if that's a brilliant idea or not. Think it will work?"
Jackson looked at the map a little longer. "You already know the answer to that. The only way they travel is by charted space lanes. Just as I predicted. We can use this to our advantage. We already control the ones by us and preventing them from using these lanes will effectively halt them. The only problem is the ones we don't know of. Each of them has used hyperplanes we knew nothing of and surprised each other with."
"As you already know, a war of attrition will not be on our side. "
"Oh, I know. Attacking them where it hurts will be our best option for now. I have plans for both the Republic and Separatists but it's too soon. Right now we need a perimeter. If they were having trouble taking out five of our ships. They will have a hard time dealing with a full fleet just waiting for them to arrive. Once our defenses are up we will go on the offensive."
