I suggested we should head back to the house because after that particularly upsetting event, Isa would be determined to get cuddling with the dogs.

On the walk back, Meg was deep in thought. She walked beside me, with Isa and Alice ahead, as I was texting Trent and Jake to say we were leaving and where they were.

Got a few pictures of the castle in return, with some killer selfies.

P: Looking gooooood :P

T: Thanks ;) how are things?

J: Why are we leaving?

And I didn't want to tell them through text, or I didn't overall want to say anything.

P: Ask Megan

Am I a bad person? Probably.

.............

While waiting for the next ferry to come, I stood outside a little away from Isa and Alice. Megan had went into the shelter to talk with the guys.

"Hey," Isa said suddenly to me, "do you have anything to eat?"

I knew what she meant and passed over a packet of Oreos from my bag.

"You're too awesome," Alice said before taking one for herself.

"I hope Megan does realise she loves you, then you can supply us with biscuits in the future," Isa chipped in.

And I'll admit, my cheeks heated up at the thought of Meg actually being in love with me.

On the ride back, Isa had dozed off and I was sitting between Megan and Jake.

To distract myself from revealing anything to anyone, I looked through the photos on my phone the boys had sent.

I kid you not, they ruined every single one of an amazing view with their adorableness.

And when we were back on the other side, I went along with Isa when Alice asked me too.

"Please? I need to have a word with Megan," she had told me. "I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important."

I told her not to worry, and she thanked me before I followed Isa and the guys off.

"So like, it was still amazing. The climb wasn't even that difficult, I don't know why you don't come with us," Trent was saying.

"Easy for you to say about the hill," Jake muttered, and I almost burst out laughing.

On the road going back, I didn't know what to talk about and Megan seemed a little bothered after the little chat Alice had with her.

Plus it had already been a pretty weird day.

Isa went with Alice to walk the dogs when they got back, and I knew she was trying to avoid Megan.

Because she was getting suspicious, which is never a good thing.

But Jake offered me a brilliant distraction, saying he wanted to show me something on the computer while Trent went to the kitchen area with Meg.

"If you give me a jump scare I'm gonna have to kill you," I said.

"Well, I'd die happily knowing I made you scared in the first place," J shot back.

And kill me, but I didn't even know about the film Annabelle from the Conjuring series, or the series in general.

So Jake played the trailer, and I thought it looked interesting. Couple attacked by mysterious people and this weird looking doll.

I cried out at the scene where the girl runs at the door as it closes, then bursts through looking taller.

"I hate you," I said to Jake, who was close to having a heart attack from laughing so hard.

.............

When I got to control the music after Isa and Alice were back, I chose catchy upbeat songs for them to dance to.

Megan was in the kitchen area the whole time, washing dishes. She looked so miserable and I wanted to call her over, but Isa didn't want to be pushed for information and I didn't want to get involved in their drama.

I knew that's why she headed down to the old pier with Alice and Jake, and also to catch our dinner.

Trent asked me, after saying goodbye to his boyfriend, to make a trip up to the freezer for ice cream.

"I'm gonna tell her," he added in a whisper.

I just nodded and ran up to the workshop, Louis following behind.

Hopefully she wouldn't take it too bad, because I know she's mean but I didn't think she could be bad with her own brother. At least the ice cream was easy to find and when I headed back down she seemed okay.

Netflix had some of the worst movies ever, though. But the ice cream was good, even if it had the possible side effect of ruining our appetite for dinner.

I sat at the table with Megan so she wouldn't feel lonely and isolated again, and she seemed okay. Mainly asking about how I knew T and J played for the opposite team.

"Your brother was the easiest," I said, going on to explain all the different sites he had been on. If he had had a friend who was gay I would have known about it, so that's why it clicked in so easily.

"Now, Jake took a little longer. But eventually I got the password to his phone and found all these texts to his friends saying he doesn't know if he liked me anymore," I went on.

"And I did some more digging, found out he had kissed another guy," I concluded.

Meg was laughing as she attempted to eat, showing no signs of unleashing her anger once Alice and I had left the room.

If I had a chance to stop it beforehand, I would have.

...........

"Well, looks like you and Megan were having fun," Alice said once we were alone in the bedroom, sharing the tablet.

"Shut up," I replied, grinning.

"Seriously, you two are dead cute. And thanks for helping me out today, she should be quiet now."

But oh, how wrong she was.

We heard the shouts, and I'll admit that I was happy Meg liked me back, but that changed so fast when I saw Isa upset.

Alice was raging.

"Out, get out!" she had screamed, shoving her right out the door and slamming it.

I didn't try to stop her, it was beyond that.

Isa cried her heart out in the bathroom, and I went up to the summer house for the rest of my things.
