"lisa, are you sure this is clean?" i look at the ramen in front of me. it's a bit sketchy and I'm quite scared, she gave me an assuring smile. "yes, come on don't be such a baby. i always eat here whenever i need to go to busan" she grab her chopsticks and begin devouring the soup in front of her. fine let's try it, i grab my chopsticks as well and try the ramen in front of me.
"woah." this is the most tasty ramen I've ever tasted, it's not that bland but it's not too salty either! it's like I'm eating in a 5 Michelin Stars restaurant where in fact this place looks like a house.
"i know right? grandma gwen make the best food ever" and she's right, whoever is grandma gwen i should bring her with me and ask her to make this food everyday. we're eating in silence but it's not akward at all. suddenly there's an old woman walking towards us with a smile on her face.
"lisa, what brings you here?" she smiled softly as if she's talking to her own child. lisa stand up and bow at her after she bowed she hugged the woman. "oh i miss you grandma gwen" so that's grandma gwen, she looks nice. they separated the hug and the woman looks at me. ”you brought your girlfriend?" my face feels weird, suddenly i feel hot. lisa just laugh and once she told this words makes me want to slap her.
"oh yes" WHAT? i gave her a questioning look and she just sit next to me and wrap her arms at my shoulder. that gave me the chance to pinch her side.
"oh really? it was nice meeting you! lalisa have never ever brought someone here before, you must be pretty special" oh gosh. if i tried telling her that I'm not really her girlfriend it might break her heart.
"uh sure, yes thank you" i look at the girl beside me, hiding her pain with a wide smile is quite a view. it's funny how comfortable i am with her, isn't that weird?
"well, you girls better finish your food" then she left with a smile on her face, while me. i punch the girl beside me in her arm. she sit again at her sit and start laughing. "grandma gwen doesn't have any children, that's why she's that sweet to me. now don't be too mad about the couple joke, I just want her to experience the feeling of introducing your lover to your mother. that kind of thing" then she blabbers about her ramen. i smiled. because of how thoughtful she is. it's a white lie for sure but, who would've thought that jennie kim is eating a ramen at 3am with someone she really don't know yet. how ironic
"finish your food, I'm just gonna start the engine" she left me and put a money on the table for our tab. i kept eating and decided to bid my goodbye to grandma gwen. i opened the restaurant's door and the cold wind hit my face, lisa is leaning on her car while smoking. never knew she smokes tho
"oh hey, enjoy your almost breakfast?" she threw her cigarette away and walk towards me. "yeah, it was nice. never knew you smoke" she just shrugged then open the door for me "well that's one thing already knew about me" why do she always have to open the door for me? i mean is she my butler? i laugh at the thought and after that she sat on the driver's seat once again and start driving
"so what are you going to do in busan?" i at least have to know, right? she just shrugged and glance at me, i grab some coffee drink at back
"it's uh an opening of my father's restaurant, he's adding another branch of his restaurant" i just nodded in response, oh maybe that's why she knows many places to eat since her father is a chef.
"oh and it's my brother's wedding" that's where i almost spit my coffee. i mean i only have comfortable clothes with me and the clothes I'm wearing right now is just a church dress!
"what?! i don't have any proper clothes for that kind of celebration! and you should've told me so i could book myself a hotel" she looks at me with wide eyes then back at the road again
" oh no need, my cousin have a house there. I'm pretty sure she's gonna let you crash, after all you're my girlfriend" she winks at me and i swear, the nerve of this girl.
"fuck off" she laugh "well who's gonna take you there?" well fair point. we just laugh are asses off.
"this is pretty weird" she suddenly told me with a grin but not facing me.
"what's weird?" she glance at me and smiled widely "I'm with my idol slash highschool crush in my cab, who's gonna spend a week with me" she just shook her head while smiling
" so you have a crush on me?" i told her just to make her shy but what surprise me is the way how bold her answer is. "everyone have a crush on you, i mean with that eyes of yours? the way your face looks like? if they were in my shoes right now for sure they're gonna faint when they see you smile or laugh, i mean i almost faint!"
"but i smile at my magazine photos!" i try defending myself but her words just hits different.
" yeah but it doesn't reach your eyes it's like; " she took a deep breath. "it's like your smiling just cause you need to." i look at her and she did the same thing but back at the road again.
"you're right" she nodded "always believe in me, kim." i just chuckles
"yeah sure ma'am lisa" she smiled widely.
"so believe when i say i like your smile. the true smile, the way that i can see your happy with your eyes." she smiled.
" that's my favorite kind of smile. "
