At the training ground at the back of hotel, Leo holds out the new Weaponized-integrated CAD with Tatsuya watching this with jacket off.

"All right, ready to start?" Tatsuya asked.

"Roger!" Leo said, "Here it goes!" He said then start using his magic, he pulled the trigger activating the CAD then the blade spite in half and the upper blade float up. "It's really floating up there!" He said, "This is so cool!" He said as he swings the blade and the floating blade follow the motion.

"Three...two...one...zero!" Tatsuya said.

"Whoa!" Leo said as the blades reconnect, "I'd totally call it a success, Tatsuya!" He said giving Tatsuya a thumbs up, "So...Fortifying Magic works even when it's not physically connected..." He said.

"Fortifying Magic is defined by how it stabilize relative positions." Tatsuya said, "There's no need for objects to be in contact." He said, "The way this device works is probably more like extending than flinging out." He said, "Since there's nothing in the middle, it will only move along the extended length of the sword." He said.

"It feels the same as if I were swinging a really long sword." Leo said, "That helps because it keeps me from overthinking." He said.

"All right, the next step is a live test." Tatsuya said as straw training dummies moved towards him then Leo ran towards the straw training dummies and start swinging after beating three he went after more.

The Next Day, 5th of August 2095, Third Day of the Nine School Competition at the Battle Board venue

It's the Semifinals Second Race, the contestants are Mari from First High, Third High participant, Seventh High participant and Ninth High participant.

"Ms. Watanabe is going head-to-head with Seventh High!" Honoka said.

"Isn't this the same matchup as last year's final?" Shizuku asked.

"On your marks." The announcer said then the refree shot the gun to begin and the contestants raced off, Mari easily take the lead but the Seventh High participant is right behind her.

"Just as I thought...she's tough." Tatsuya said.

"Gotta hand it to the Seventh High of the sea!" Erika said as the Seventh High closed in on Mari.

"This is the same matchup for the last year's final, right?" Mizuki asked.

Then at the turning point the Seventh High participant's board over accelerate causing her to lose control and speed straight towards Mari.

"Over-acceleration?" Erika asked.

'That's...' Tatsuya thought.

Mari used her CAD to stop the girl causing her to fly off her board then Mari prepares to catch her but the water under Mari's board caved in causing her to lose balance that's when Seventh High participant crashed into her and they both were sent flying towards the fence.

Later at Susono Base Hospital

Mari awakes up bandaged up as she turns and sees Mayumi sitting by her bedside.

"Mari?" Mayumi asked, "Are you back with us?" She asked, "Do you know who I am?" She asked.

"Mayumi?" Mari said, "What are you talking about?" She said, "There's no need to ask something like...ouch..." She said but she was cut off due to the pain, "Is this the hospital?" She asked.
