Meanwhile, Tae entered Jungkook's room and found him sitting on the bed, engrossed in a book.
As soon as he caught sight of Tae, Jungkook quickly placed the book on the side table and sat up. Tae joined him on the bed.
"Kookie, I want to talk to you," Tae said, and Jungkook happily obliged, sitting in front of him.
"Sure thing," Jungkook replied with a smile, eager to hear what Tae had to say.
"You've changed a lot since Jiminie and Jin hyung came, what's the reason? You don't like them?" Taehyung asked curiously.
"Nah, it's not like that," Jungkook replied, a hint of timidity in his voice.
"First, you've got to answer some of my questions, then I'll tell you, okay?" Jungkook looked at Taehyung, who nodded in agreement.
"Who is Jimin to you?" Jungkook asked.
"He's my best friend, my soulmate," Taehyung replied truthfully.
"And who am I to you?" Jungkook frowned, feeling a bit uncertain about Taehyung's response.
"You're also a friend," Taehyung replied shyly. He wanted to say more, but the complexity of their relationship made it difficult to define.
"So he is your soulmate and I'm just a friend," Jungkook frowned.
Taehyung looked at him, and then he realized that Jungkook was feeling jealous of Jimin. Taehyung chuckled internally, finding the situation amusing.
"Yes," Taehyung said mischievously deciding to tease him.
"See, that's the reason I behave like that. I hate him being with you," Jungkook admitted honestly.
"Why? You know he's closer to me," Taehyung replied, trying to suppress his smile.
Jungkook's furrowed brow deepened as he spoke.
"Yes, I was foolish. You should be with him, not me. Just go to him," Jungkook bit his lower lip in an attempt to contain his anger.
Taehyung offered a smile and leaned toward the younger man, planting a gentle peck on his lips—more of a tender touch than anything else.
He then sat back, observing as Jungkook, momentarily forgetting his frustration, remained stunned and speechless.
"He's close to me, but only in a brotherly way. Nothing more," Taehyung explained.
"And, well, I have feelings for someone else," Taehyung continued, accompanied by a shy smile.
"Who?" Jungkook snapped out of his trance and inquired.
"You know, he's not human either. He's a winged creature," Taehyung maintained eye contact with Jungkook, whose smile grew wider.
Without hesitation, Jungkook captured Taehyung's lips in a passionate kiss, reciprocated with equal fervor by Taehyung.
Eventually, Taehyung fell onto the bed, the kiss unbroken, with Jungkook on top. After a while, they parted.
"I care about you a lot too," Jungkook declared, showering Taehyung's face with joyful kisses.
"Alright, alright. Now, let's get some sleep," Taehyung said, laughing. Jungkook pulled him in for another kiss before lying beside him, enfolding him in a protective embrace.
