"What do you mean?" Yoongi fixed a sharp gaze on the commander.
"Yes, master. Our spies have confirmed that the Royal Estates are preparing for war," the commander reported.
"No, Commander, you must be mistaken. If they're gearing up for conflict, it's likely with another kingdom," Namjoon expressed shock, rejecting the grim reality.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty, but they are preparing to fight us. The reason is that we did not release the younger prince," the commander explained with a bow.
"You can leave now, Commander," Yoongi commanded in a cold, resolute tone.
After the commander departed, Yoongi approached Namjoon, the weight of the news hanging heavy in the air.
"I told you, I FUCKING warned you!" Yoongi bellowed, his frustration boiling over.
Namjoon sat there motionless, stunned by the revelation; he never expected Jin, of all people, to betray him like this.
"Hyung, it can't be true. I know Jin wouldn't do this to me," Namjoon uttered, his voice hollow and trembling.
"Namjoon, are you seriously defending that traitor? What's wrong with you?" Yoongi's tone was harsh, filled with a desire to shake some sense into Namjoon.
"Don't call him that," Namjoon hissed, defiance in his eyes. Yoongi shook his head, snorting dismissively.
"Hyung, think rationally. Why would they do this when Taehyung is still with us?" Namjoon pleaded, desperately clinging to hope.
"Namjoon, stop being a fool, or you'll lose your kingdom. Didn't you hear him? They're looking for a reason to start a fight," Yoongi admonished, his impatience evident.
Namjoon stood up, his mind racing. "Hyung, think about it. Why would Jin leave his brother behind if this was planned?"
"Oh my god! I couldn't figure out why Jin abandoned his brother so easily. This was the plan all along. They wanted a pretext for a fight. It was all a damn act. Taehyung didn't come here out of curiosity; it was all orchestrated," Yoongi exclaimed, realization hitting him like a truck.
"No, hyung, what are you saying?" Namjoon protested, desperately hoping for an alternative explanation.
"Shut up, Namjoon! Think of your people. What will you do now? You can't even fight; remember the king is still alive," Yoongi urged, trying to jolt Namjoon into reality.
Namjoon was lost in thought, his mind drifting back to the lake where he'd told Jin he couldn't start a war. Was it all a lie? Were they trapped?
"No, he can't do this. He loves me," Namjoon gasped, grappling with the shattering realization that his emotions might have been manipulated.
"Wait a minute! Brother, did you happen to mention to Jin that you're bound by your powers?" Yoongi asked, closing in on Namjoon.
"He can't betray me like this, Yoongi. I love him, and he loves me too," Namjoon uttered, his heart shattered, he couldn't comprehend what was happening.
"So you did tell him. Namjoon, I warned you not to trust him so easily. He deceived you with his beauty; I told you it could blind you. Now, think with your mind. He betrayed you," Yoongi insisted, gripping Namjoon's shoulder.
"Yoongi! Kill King Adams," Namjoon commanded with a powerful voice, his heart broken but determined. There was no time to mourn; he had a kingdom to protect.
"As you say, my king," Yoongi nodded, grateful that Namjoon didn't crumble in heartbreak, focusing instead on the impending war and the need to defend their people.
