Yoongi let out a heavy sigh as his gaze lingered on Namjoon, who sat beside Jin's bed, his unwavering stare fixed on the motionless figure.
"My king, it's been four days since you attended the court," Yoongi implored, moving closer.
"I am not coming today either," Namjoon responded, his focus still on Jin.
"Please, Namjoon! It's crucial; you can't neglect your responsibilities," Yoongi pleaded gently.
"I am not going to leave him," Namjoon asserted, tenderly caressing Jin's hand that rested on the mattress.
Taking a deep breath, Yoongi contemplated for a moment, then exited the room without pressing the matter further.
A knock on the door interrupted the heavy atmosphere. "Can I come in?" King Beomgyu's voice echoed through the room. Namjoon rubbed his hands on his face, composing himself before replying, "Yes."
As King Beomgyu entered, his heart sank at the sight of his son lying motionless.
He approached Jin's bed, delicately kissing his forehead before sitting beside Namjoon.
"It's been four days. Why isn't he waking up?" the human king inquired, the winged king remaining silent, equally clueless.
"I'm sorry," King Beomgyu sighed heavily, consumed by guilt. Namjoon didn't protest.
"I failed as a leader and as a parent," the king confessed, guilt-ridden, gazing at the ground.
"You didn't fail as a leader, sir," Namjoon reassured after a moment.
"You did what you thought was right for your people."
"But it cost me this," King Beomgyu gestured towards Jin. "I should have listened and trusted him."
"He will hate me forever." The human kinged choked on his sob.
"He will not," Namjoon smiled with empathy. "You don't know your son, King Beomgyu. He has the heart of an angel. He will never hate you."
"Do you truly love my son?" the human king questioned, searching for any reluctance in Namjoon's expression.
Finding none, he observed the genuine love reflected in the winged king's eyes.
"I love your son deeply," Namjoon admitted sincerely.
"I'm sorry, son. I'm sorry for causing so much trouble," the human king apologized tearfully.
"It's okay, sir, as long as Jin will be okay," Namjoon comforted.
"Father," King Beomgyu smiled at Namjoon with teary eyes.
"Huh?" Namjoon responded, bewildered.
"You can call me father. After all, you are my future son-in-law," the human king declared with a warm smile, placing a hand on Namjoon's shoulder.
Namjoon was looking at him with his mouth agape and eyes wide.
"Yes son I'll be more than happy to marry my son with you and to break the old rivalry." King Beomgyu put his hand on Namjoon's shoulder, patting it lightly
"Thank you," Namjoon stammered, his eyes brimming with tears.
"Things are getting right. I'm positive you'll be awake soon," Namjoon whispered to Jin's unconscious body, a glimmer of hope in his voice.
