2. A Surprise Visit

It has been two days since Avi's passing and everyone is more quiet than usual, Kevin and Kirstie haven't visited the other three boys since that day. Matt is still in shock, Mitch is heartbroken, Kevin is really sad, and Scott and Kirstie...are devastated. Kevin and Kirstie decided to surprise the other boys by visiting them and processing Avi's loss together.

"Knock, knock," said Kirstie while knocking on Matt and Scott's room.

"Hey, Kirstie," Matt said quietly.

"Come in," Scott invited Kirstie and she sat down in Scott's bed, hugging him tightly when she saw how red his eyes were.

"Mitch is on his way. Kevin should be here soon," Kirstie said quietly and Mitch entered the room, gasping when he saw Kirstie, he was happy she was there.

A little while later, Kevin came and he greeted everyone, happy to see the gang, well kind of, reunited after two long weeks. "It's been a tough two weeks, with Avi getting sick and you guys not being here," Scott said, pointing to Mitch and Matt. "But now...we need to be together, we all lost a very close and important person to us, we lost Avi. He was an amazing guy with a deep voice and a big heart, always caring about us and making us feel loved and safe," he continued and tears fell down his cheeks.

"We should do something for him. We have to honor him somehow," Mitch said looking down.

"Let's do a minute of silence first, he deserves it," Kevin said and everyone held hands, looked down, and waited for a minute to think about Avi and how much they missed him.

"How about we go to our spot outside and we hang out there for the rest of the day, we can update everyone on how things are going," Kirstie offered and the boys nodded. They all went to their favorite spot at the hospital park and started chatting.

"How was your time at home guys?" Kevin asked Mitch and Matt.

"It was ok, I missed you guys, but I was glad to be home and sleep in bed. That was the fun part. Overall, my parents were watching me like hawks, it was quite annoying." Matt said, chuckling a little.

"It was fine, I got to see my sister again, that was exciting. I had family visit me, but I spent most of my time in bed or on the couch. Nothing amazing," Mitch said.

"When do you start treatment again?" Kirstie asked.

"Mitch and Matt start tomorrow, I will in a few days," Scott said looking down, he wasn't in the mood for talk.

"It's my last round before immunotherapy and then I'll be done with cancer. I am excited about that," Mitch said smiling and everyone except Scott congratulated him.

"What about you Matt?" Kevin asked.

"Let's just hope the tumor shrinks and I don't lose my leg, I wanna play basketball again," Matt said a little sad, but Mitch reminded him that he had to be patient and hope for the best.

"And you, Squirty?" Kirstie asked quietly, snaping Scott out of his thoughts.

"I don't know. If this doesn't work they will do some clinical trials and go from there," Scott said shrugging. He then felt some blood running down his nose. "Excuse me," he said and left before the blood started to fall, leaving everyone to stare after him worried and scared.

Scott went back to his room and looked at himself in the mirror while the blood fell down his nose, Scott took some deep breaths to calm himself down and started cleaning his nose until it stopped bleeding, he then lifted his shirt and took a look at all the bruises that were on his chest and stomach, "Shit."
