Elizabeth and Annabelle made the jump to Earth Three and ended up in front of a gas station. The wind chill made them grateful they'd changed back into their uniforms before they departed. The building was on the side of a long stretch of pothole-infested road.
"Fuckin' hate the cold," Elizabeth commented with a newly-repaired face, courtesy of a potion Annabelle gave her.
"It's not too bad out here!" Annabelle replied.
"Didn't you say you were born in that fucking mountain range up north? You're a hillbilly, that's why it ain't cold for you."
Once they made their way inside, Elizabeth hung out by the grill and decided whether she wanted a burrito or a hot dog. She looked at the humanoid octopus cashier who stared at them with wide eyes. Her ponytail bobbed as she jumped from their sudden appearance.
"You're not gonna snitch, are you?" Elizabeth asked.
"N-no."
"Good."
Annabelle was looking at the section filled with cooled sandwiches and salads. The sound of the door being thrown open made her and the sword wielder whirl their heads around. A man nearing his thirties was dressed in a hentai t-shirt, ripped black jeans, and checkered sneakers. Flanking him was a purple blob in a tank top and a stretchy bald mute with elongated ligaments.
"Gimme all the money in the fucking register!" Hentai Shirt ordered as he pulled out a firearm.
Octopus Cashier saw her life flash before her eyes. She let out a yelp and held her hands in the air. The sound of liquid hitting the floor made two of the morons laugh as Stretchy extended his arm and panned a camera around the other side of the register.
"She inked herself!" Hentai Shirt exclaimed as he sprayed a couple water spurts out of the gun. "It's just a prank! This is going on my four thousandth video later this week— "
All three of their heads were taken off in one fell swoop. Octopus Girl's crying was quickly replaced by screaming as blood sprayed onto the counter, her, and the wall.
Elizabeth took a quick look outside and saw the sleek red hover bike parked out front. Where the front wheel would've been was an enclosed spherical assembly that was combined with the fuel tank and housed one of the hover pods inside. The handlebars had a low profile with a blue display system in between, and the seat had enough room for two. The rear area was a large compartment where the second internal hover pod was located, and a turbine engine protruded out the back.
"Whose bike is that?" she asked the still-screaming cashier.
"Five minutes." Annabelle said as she walked over with a container of chicken salad in her hand. She raised her voice but kept herself from yelling. "You couldn't go five minutes without killing somebody!"
"They were three retards who did nothing but add more retardation to society!"
"That doesn't justify murdering them in cold blood!"
"Even you know they were retarded, then— " she turned and pointed at the cashier. "Shut up."
Octopus Girl quit her screaming but still whimpered at the blood pooling on the floor.
"Honestly, it doesn't matter whose bike that is. We're taking it, anyway. For the good of the galaxy and all that other shit." Elizabeth said.
"This is wrong, you know," Annabelle said as she held onto Elizabeth for dear life after they merged onto I-95 North. "This is yet another thing they'll crucify us with in court."
