Shape of My Heart
Backstreet Boys༻✧༺
Y/N MAXWELLAs eager as I was to figure out who bought me this dress, nervousness still lingered over my shoulder like a lion to his prey.
Part of me genuinely feared that Linda had something to do with it, but I knew too well that buying such an expensive and extravagant dress for some lousy payback wouldn't be a move she'd make.
Of course, the thought of Aiden purchasing it did cross my mind on more than one occasion, but after everything the two of us have been through over the past couple of months, the chances of it being him were slim to none.
The walk to the Astronomy Tower wasn't long, but it sure as hell was cold. Goosebumps formed all over my body as the chilly, winter breeze ran itself along my bare skin, leaving my skin severely flushed.
At this point in time, I was certainly regretting not bringing a sweater along to the ball with me. However, I was more regretful for not carrying my wand on me to meet with the mysterious sender of the package.
You'd think I would've learnt my lesson after everything that went down with Linda.
Now, if there was one thing I probably knew better than anyone else, it's that irrational decision-makers are usually the ones to end up dead first in horror movies.
The air continued to grow colder as I ascended the steps leading to the main section of the Astronomy Tower, where a dark silhouette could be seen standing by the edge of the tower, staring out at the stars above.
The floorboards beneath my feet cracked, immediately gaining the mysterious person's attention. "As cliche as it sounds, I was starting to lose hope that you'd show."
My lips pulled into a hard line the moment I heard his voice, silence quickly filling the atmosphere as my lips remained sealed.
With how well my night had been going thus far, I contemplated just turning around and leaving without saying a singular word.
The last thing I wanted was this beautiful night and these wonderful memories to be ruined because of whatever this boy had to say. He was pretty good at gripping joyous things in his grasp and destroying them without feeling a single sense of remorse.
After all, he'd been doing it to me for years.
"Please, don't go." The boy's pale face became visible as he turned around to face me, his eyebrows obviously furrowed and lips pursed in a straight line as his eyes met the dress covering my body. "There are a few things I need to say to you."
My mouth momentarily slipped open but no words came out. It's almost as if all of the words in the English language just completely evaporated from my brain, leaving me with nothing but incomprehensible sentences.
Malfoy's eyebrows remained knitted together as he watched me gawk at him like a deer stick in a tucker's headlights.
An unexpected and sudden sigh fell from the boy's lips as he pushed his neatly managed locks back with his large, veiny hand, leaving his hair completely messed up.
