Y/N MAXWELL

The trip to Hogwarts took many hours but once we finally reached the castle all students piled out of their compartments then off the train. Hermione and I managed to catch up with Ron and Harry, the four of us eager to begin our Hogwarts journeys.

"Right then! First years, this way please!" A deep manly voice calls out. "Come on now, first years, don't be shy. Come on now, hurry up. Come on!"

"Hello, Harry." The deep voice spoke in a more relaxed tone. "Hey, Hagrid." Harry said with a smile spread out across his face.

As I look up to who Harry was referring to my eyes nearly popped out of my head. There stood an extremely large man holding a lantern in his exceptionally large hand. The giant had a long black, mane-like beard that covered most of his face and dark eyes that glinted like a black beetle.

"Woah!" Ron exclaimed upon noticing the extremely large giant. My elbow nudged itself into the gingers arm as I turned to look at him. "You took the words right out of my mouth."

"Right, then. This way to the boats. Come on now, follow me." Hagrid called out, indicating for all of the first-years to follow him.

Hermione, Neville and I travelled alongside next to each other, hot behind Harry's and Ron's heels. After a short while we reach a beautiful lake, which reflected the beautiful castle of Hogwarts.

It was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Sure, I've been to London bridge, but even that doesn't compare to the beauty of the castle stood tall before me.

"Four in a boat, thank you!" Hagrid called out, jumping into a boat of his own. My quickly eyes find Hermione, noticing her climbing into a boat with Harry, Neville and Ron.

"Wait, what about (Y/n)?" Ron's eyebrows furrowed, turning his head in my direction. "No worries, I'll find another one. I'll see you guys once we're on the other side." I flash a smile at the four of them before wandering off to find another boat.

Most of the boats I whizzed passed were at full capacity except one with three girls, who were talking amongst themselves. I felt awful interrupting their conversation but it seemed like I had no other choice, unless I wanted to swim across.

"Hello. Do you mind if I sail across with you girls?" I mustered up the courage to ask. "Not at all." A girl wearing hazel-green eyes smiled, before scooting over to allow room for me to sit.

"I'm Aimee Williams." The girl smiled, holding her hand out for me to shake.

I take her hand in mine as the boat began rowing itself across the lake - this slightly taking me off guard. The whole magic thing will definitely take some time getting used to.

"So, what's your name?" Another one of the girl's asked. The girl in question has short black hair and a pair of dark blue eyes.

"My name's (Y/n). (Y/n) Maxwell." I introduced myself, earning a smile from the black haired girl. "Casey Miller, and that blonde over there is Lillian Ellison."

My eyes find a blonde haired girl, who had her face glued in an open book. Confusion found its way onto my face as I watched the girl continue to read the words on the page in front of her. It was quite surprising, she was sat here reading instead of taking in the stunning view.
