xxiv. arctic love

128 12 4

Then, when
youd set your eyes on me
Your gaze, it hugged me to a different world
Now, in the collision of your eyes and mine, yours seem to droop
simultaneously.
Your words don't come like a soft
summer breath anymore,
instead
they're depravedly hurled
and leave my insides
frigid
in tiny glacial icicles
that just
manage to leave
a faint,
brumal feeling . .
that's
what haunts me-
a slow, breezy summer
turned an arctic winter
and I stripped
completely to it
scattered in its
frosty mess
all because once upon a time
you looked at me
differently
