Rain. Warmth. Halen. The sound, feeling, and smell I've grown so accustom to in the night. And I'm pulled from my sleep when it so suddenly changes. Creaking. Cold air. Nothing. My ears ring and I flutter my eyes open, my vision blurred in the low light of Blue's bedroom. It's so hard to see. I blink rapidly as my brain comes alive, and I gently grasp the sheets next to me, feeling nothing.

"Halen?" I whisper hoarsely, hearing another dull creaking floorboard behind me. I roll over while rubbing my eyes, and see his recognizable figure by the door, facing away from me.

"Halen..." I say a bit louder.

At the sound of my voice, like he wasn't expecting it, he looks over his shoulder. He turns around, adjusting the scarf loose around his neck, "Beauty... hey. Did I wake you up?"

I yawn, but it dissipates fast once it registers in me that his clothes are just that. Clothes. I frown and the mattress springs pop noisily beneath me when I sit up, "Yeah, but... what are you doing? Why are you dressed?"

Halen approaches the bed, sniffling and ticcing vivaciously. He pulls on his trousers to sit down next to me, but he can't talk. Not right away. The pained look on his face worries me.

After a second, he plants his focus on me and takes a deep breath, "I have to go run some errands. Go to the pharmacy."

"What? Why?" I swallow down the tacky feeling in my mouth.

"My tics are painful today. It is bad. Incredibly bad." He sounds so distant and hurt. His voice still has that morning rasp and that numbness, but it's intensified, "I have been up for an hour and they won't stop. I need a refill on my medication. I'm out. I was going to wait until after we spent the morning together, but I need to go now. Right now."

"Are you serious? Why wouldn't you wake me up? I'll come with you. Let me get my shoes-"

"No, no. You stay here and sleep," He shakes his head and stills my movement with just one hand on my cheek, soothing and rubbing my skin like it'll ease my worries and his own, "I am meeting with my dealer too. Need some weed. I do not want you there."

"The dealer who tried to jump you? No. I'm going with you-"

"No. You are not. I have my pistol. Besides, we came to an agreement and an understanding last time. I can handle him fine on my own. I got your phone," He gestures to the bedside table where it lays, "Snuck into Daisy Mae's room for you. I'll text you when I'm on my way home."

"Halen-"

"Scilla... no. I want you here. I want you to get rest, and keep my spot nice and warm for me. Okay?" Halen whispers softly, standing up. He pulls his keys from his pocket and leans down to pull the blanket back over me, "I will be back in an hour before you wake up, but I'm off now. Give me a kiss. Make it sweet. Need it for the drive."
