** Mirror Rose***

Who would have thought that I would be standing in the position that I am currently in?

I never expected myself to even think about this moment, yet here I am adjusting my dress so I feel comfortable.

Prom!

The four letter word that I never wanted in my vocabulary unless it had the word 'hate' and 'never' associated with it.

It was one of the many dances that I thought were for nerdy or preppy people.

I can't dance, not because I don't want to.....I just can't!

I have rhyme, just not the proper coordinates to dance. I wasn't the type of girl that would stand on her father's feet as he twirled around the room. Or the little girl that would play dress up.

Nope that wasn't me... but now I'm looking into the mirror, staring at the dress on my body.

My dress is simple yet elegant.

It has a sweetheart neck line, strapless. Beads outline the top, around the chest area. From the chest until the waist, its tight than it slightly flares out.

I'm not a dress person, I wasn't even the one who picked out my dress.

Jezabell did.

If your wondering, Luke is not my date. He's a chaperone for the dance. Ill get to see him, but not one dance will be shared. He's been by my side since I returned, he even went with me to get my stitches out. I thought it was going to hurt, who wouldn't? However, my hand that was holding Lukes hurt more from him squeezing it than the removal of the stitches.

My mom moved to Europe, she wants to start out fresh... again. We are on talking terms but we will never have the mother-daughter relationship. Sadly I'm okay with that. I've lived without a mother before and I will do it again.

I am proud to say that my relationship with my father has come a long way. He's one of my best friends, in a weird yet comforting way. When I told him about prom he dropped his phone. That's how shocked he was. He sent money for the dress and anything else I needed.

His job as a lawyer is going very well, just opening a new firm brought tons of people in. Also, he is engaged to another woman.

And yes I have met her.

She is a very nice lady. Don't get me wrong, I like the woman but that didn't stop me from calling Jackson to do a background check on her. She came up clean. There wedding is in the summertime. If your thinking ' wow that was fast' I totally agree. But... he says he's in love.

Who am I to judge who he falls in love with?

Jackson called had a few weeks ago, asking about my plans after high school. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, I like to keep my options open. He offered me a job for his undercover agency that handles trafficking of babies and young girls. Honestly I haven't made of my decision yet, Luke wasn't and still isn't to happy with but he promised to support me 100%.

So much has happened that changed my view on life, some I'm grateful for and the rest I let fade away, not wanting yo keep it in my memories.

A knock at the door brought me out of my thoughts. Fixing my curls, and making sure my dress was in place, I made my way to the door.

Jezabell stood there with Delilah, both girls look absolutely stunning in there gowns. Jez's wore a dark green dress that complimented her curves in all the right places. And Delilah had a cream color dress, from far away she would look nude.
