Elia's POV

Since Grace and I went to the royal territory to meet my m-...Queen Lina, I haven't been able to shake her off  my thoughts. Grace has been the last thing on my mind and my wolf has been constantly bugging me to go back to see her royal highness. I'm posted up along our 'border', doing patrol so I can keep busy and avoid talking to Grace or interacting with her in any way other than my duty to her as her right hand. My eyes glance over the tree line slowly.

You can't keep avoiding what you're feeling, Elia. My wolf perks up in a calmer tone this time.

I can't just abandon my duties here, Ev.

You don't have any real responsibilities. Grace treats you like a trophy.

How is Lina any different?

Lina doesn't do any of that, clearly. We came in and ransacked her pack and most likely against everyone's wishes, she still wants us, refuses to reject us despite probably everyone, including yourself, telling her it's what she needs to do. She doesn't care what anyone thinks. She just wants you. I sit in silence for a moment, taking that reality in. The very queen herself is defying all odds to be with me; the mate that begged her to be rejected. She is....stronger than I thought. Not long before this, I didn't want anything to do with her, thought she was weak and a spoiled brat but...I'm starting to admire her as I've gotten to know bits and pieces about the one the goddess paired me with.

You're right. I've been going about this all wrong, haven't I?

That's what I've been trying to tell you. Grace is just a friend with benefits, Lina is a chance to have real love, a chance to start over. Fuck the hierarchy, she doesn't give a shit about that. We can bring our worlds together and possibly end the cycle of violence between the Allied Packs and Rogues that have gone on since the beginning of time. History repeats itself all the time but I think this time we can help end the cycle. This is about more than Grace's feelings. We could finally bring about peace to rogues around the world.

You're right...maybe being with Lina would be a good thing. I should get a message out to her. One Grace can't find.

Well get you a pen and paper and get moving! Somebody can cover your shift for a few minutes. As I agree with that idea, I call out to the warriors to see if somebody can cover my post for a short while and Damian picks it up, coming to meet me, also handing me the pen and paper I asked for.

"What's this for anyway?" He asks.

"You don't wanna know. Thanks for covering for me." I pat his shoulder. "I'm gonna be heading to the outskirts for something urgent, I may need your help with something later tonight as well. Can I trust you?"

"Yeah, of course, whatever you need."

"I want you to bring 3 other trustworthy people too. We're going somewhere 8 pm. And do me a favor, keep this under wraps. I'll explain when we head out."

"Okay....I'll make sure we're all ready." He nods.

"Appreciate you, Dame. I'll be back!" I smile, beginning to write as I walk out of our safety perimeter and to the outer border of the Royal pack. I see Lina's right hand, a few others accompanied but none other than her sister. Strange to see her out here. I shake that thought off and grab their attention, approaching them.
"I come in peace." I put my hands up in surrender.

"The hell are you doing out here? Don't you have a fiancé to be tending to?" One of the lackies barks at me.

"Easy. What do you want, Elia?" Dawson nods to me, calming down his fellow man.

"I have a message for your queen. It's urgent and I just want it to get directly to her."

"I can make sure it gets to her safely." Amy steps forward yet Micah holds her back for a second. I'm a little surprised to see her out this far from their home.

"I want to make this clear to you. Whatever it is you've got up your sleeve I will snuff it out." Dawson stops her from taking it from me.

"There's no trick here...I'm being genuine. Please just get this to her, it's important." I explain to him, hoping he can sense I'm telling the truth.

"I promise I'll do it for you Elia. I can tell whatever it is, it'll make my sister smile. I'll take care of it." Amy moves from behind her cousin's protection and walks to me.

"You'll do this quietly? No one will know the contents of this letter?"

"Leave it up to me. As soon as we head back , it'll go straight to her."

"Okay. Thank you." I hand the paper to her. I hope this works and she hears me out. Once that's done, I quickly head back to my people and try to mentally prepare myself for tonight.
