After a short while, I wake up, feeling the gentle caress of my mate's fingertips going through the smallest of curls at the spot where my hair meets my forehead then along the side of my face, gently grazing it. I shift a little bit, looking up to Elia who has the softest of smiles on her face.
"Hi," she says softly."Hi," I reply, my own smile forming.
"Did you have a good nap?" She asks, tilting her head slightly.
"Mmm...yeah. How long was I out?"
"About 3 hours. You looked so peaceful so I let you sleep for a good amount of time but I figured you should eat. Your dad's cooked a nice dinner with the help of the pack chefs of course," she laughs. I cover my face with one hand with a groan.
"Oh gosh, was I really out for that long?" I rub my face in disbelief.
"Mhmm. I think you needed it. Nathan recommended, if you're up to it, you continue your training at the same pace but just no sparring given that a wrong hit could be a bit bad for the little one."
"Yeah...I guess that makes sense. I don't really want to slow down."
"Yeah I know. I made a pact with him. I supervise you, make sure you don't overdo it and he won't put you on bedrest. Basically I made a deal with him on your behalf." I let out a groan. I am a bit frustrated that I have to be babysat but at the same time, having my mate constantly around is...sort of a comfort. She is everything, truly. I sigh and reach up to gently caress her cheek and she leans into my hand.
"Thank you...you're always looking out for me...I love you."
"I love you too sweetheart. Would you like for me to bring your food up to you or do you wanna come down?"
"If I stay in this bed any longer, I won't get out of it again." I joke.
"Okay," she chuckles. She helps me out of the bed and holds my hand as we head downstairs. It seems the whole family is hanging out down here.
"Lina, you look well rested. You're practically glowing." Joël says with a smile.
"Yeah it was much needed. What's for dinner?smells delicious."
"We made roasted chicken, asparagus and baked garlic parmesan potatoes."
"Ooo, that sounds so good. My mouth is watering just at the smell of it." I lick my lips.
"You see why I woke you now?" Elia chuckles.
"Yeah. I need a full plate."
"I've got it covered. Go sit." My mate tells me. I obediently listen, watching her plate my dinner for me. I watch her move through the kitchen, her back muscles and biceps twitching with every move she makes to put an item on my plate. I'm so smitten with her, it's unreal. I don't even think I'm surprised at her making me obediently sit down without a bratty rebuttal. As I watch her in the kitchen over the back of the couch, I can sort of start to feel all the eyes on me.
"It's weird to see you so happy sis, I'll admit..." Junior says to me as I turn around to face everyone.
"I second that. You're extremely happy. It's weird. You walked around with a sad little storm cloud around you for a long time. Now it's like the sun follows you everywhere."
"Huh...I guess it's because I'm in love." I say with a smile.
"She's very special. I love that for you sis." Amy nods.
"Thank you. Enough about me, what have you all been up to? Have you all been well?"
"Well we didn't wanna say anything because everyone was so busy..."
