Miranda walked through the mall with Callie. She was holding Tucks and Layla's hand. Callie held Sofia's hand and the kids were just talking back and forth with each other.
"I can't think of a gift to get this man."
"Well, what does he like?"
"He's a regular man. He likes sports, grilling and he smells so dam good all the time."
"So why don't you just get him something out of that category."
"Because it's so cliché. Like most wives get men. Stuff for sports, a new grill or grilling utensils, and stuff or cologne...I don't want to be that girl."
"Here's an idea. Call his wife and see what he would want."
"Ha-ha-ha that's so funny," Miranda rolled her eyes.
"Well stop trying to be in competition with her,"
"What?" Miranda gasped turning to look at her.
"You are trying to compete and outdo her. You are trying to be the better wife to him."
"I am not. I am being myself. I don't have to compete with anybody. It's her husband. She already won the man. She's the one that rented him out for two months."
"I think he likes you more though,"
"Like and love are two different things...and just shut up because you are irritating me."
"Mommy," Layla said loudly as she pointed.Miranda looked as the woman turned around. So this was Ben's wife. She was Miranda's complexion but was drastically taller and thinner. She was a beautiful woman.
She wanted to be self-conscious looking at her but the way Ben looked at her and commented slyly about her she knew he found her attractive.
Shaking her head, she blew out a breath, she needed to stop having those thoughts. This was not her man. It seemed as if her whole world revolved around him.
Ashleigh walked up to Miranda with a smile. "Hi, laybug, and hey T man."
"Hi, Mommy,"
"Hi Ms Ashleigh," Tuck greeted with a smile.
"Hi, I am Doctor Miranda Bailey. This is my bestfriend Dr. Torres,"
"Hi I am Ashleigh Warren," she introduced with a smug smile. "I have heard so much about you Miranda,"
"Considering my husband. I'm sure it was good and bad."
"Considering my husband, I guess I could say the same."
"Actually no, he hasn't mentioned much of anything about you." Miranda lied followed by a fake smile. Dam that was mean Miranda. She chastised herself mentally.
"What are you guys doing out today?" She asked.
"Christmas shopping for daddy," Layla chimed.
"Oh, that's so nice,"
"I guess I should get going. I will see you this weekend lay and T man. It was nice meeting you Miranda."
"You as well,"
After she left Callie looked at Miranda "T man??" Callie questioned.
"Don't even, we will talk at work about it without listening ears,"
Miranda finished up her shopping. She thought about her and Ben's conversation days ago and she decided to buy him a telescope. She ordered a 500-dollar telescope and it came with a video recorder inside so he could record and take pictures of whatever he saw. She also bought him shirts and things, and a cologne sent that she thought would be nice on him.
