WHEN CASEY WOKE UP THIS MORNING, SHE KNEW WHAT DAY IT WAS. Casey sighed, getting out of her covers, going to the bathroom and getting ready.
When she went into the bedroom, she looked at the jewelry she'd be wearing today. A necklace with the letters S,J,C. She rarely ever wore that necklace except for special occasions. And tomorrow was one of those days. Though she'd only call it a painful reminder. May as well get the pain started early.
Casey had made herself a cup of coffee and fed the cats outside the fire escape of her apartment. Looking down at her phone, she checked the time and realized it was time to head into work.
Of course, if you call her internship work. To her, she didn't mind always getting coffee for her teammates when they needed it. But they often didn't treat her as an intern as such. Especially since she got shot very recently, they'd been taking it way too easy on her.
So, Casey grabbed a tray of coffees and memorized everyone's orders so she'd give them what they wanted. Seeing that Rossi and Hotch wouldn't be in the office today because they were working on something else of their own in Boston, she'd only gotten Emily, JJ, Morgan, Garcia and Reid coffee, along with herself, of course.
The first person she delivered to was Garcia and she'd gotten her her signature macchiato — the most complicated order she'd ever had gotten anyone. She'd also added in a warm croissant to her order. With a swift kiss to her cheek, Casey exited the room.
She then went over to JJ's office and had gotten her a latte. JJ thought it was a kind gesture and said thank you and Casey headed into the bullpen and found Morgan, Emily and Reid at their desks, chatting away.
One by one, she dropped coffee over to Morgan, Emily and Reid in that order before heading over to her desk with her own coffee and getting ready for her studying. This was her norm every time they didn't have a case. Casey would get the team coffee, she'd go right into studying, occasionally talking to her team every now and again.
Trying to just keep her mind off tomorrow would've been good. But it was harder to do than say. Casey's phone on her desk began to ring so she had then answered it. "Casey Willows, BAU intern speaking."
"Casey?" A woman's voice asked on the opposite side. She almost sounded like she knew Casey based on how she spoke. Casey furrowed her brows. She didn't sound familiar. "Uh, yeah, who is this?" Casey asked.
