Chapter 27: Ron Is Missing...Again

Kim walks through Middleton High carrying a stack of papers as she helps her pairs with their projects but her mind was elsewhere. She noticed that Ron didn't come to school today and was deeply concern. Is he sick? Last night she had gotten a call from Ron explaining that he will be home late as he was planning to spend some time with Logan. He must've return home late by the time she was already asleep.

This morning she woke up and head straight to school. Normally she would go together with Ron but nowadays they hardly ever met. She blames it on Josh and vow to start the cycle again but she also didn't want to disturb him. He must be very tried working that case and coming back home late at night. She heard what happen on the news about the mayor and how he was arrested.

She was hoping they could meet up in school and discuss the case with the mayor together but she didn't find him anywhere and thought that he must've stayed home. She tried calling him in her phone reminding him that he still has school but not once had he pick up the phone. She was getting concern. All her calls went to voicemail.

She didn't know what she was feeling but there was this nagging sensation in her yelling to ditch everything and check on Ron. However, before she could sneak away from school, she was interrupted by Monique who strives by her. A concern look was on her face as she watches her friend's tense expression, "Hey girl you're alright?"

"No," Kim says uneasily as she looks around her environment, "I'm worried about Ron. He was supposed to come to school today but he hasn't shown up and he's not answering any of my calls. I don't know what I am feeling but I have this nagging sensation telling me to ditch everything and find Ron."

"Girl don't worry I'm sure baby boy is alright, he'll turn up some time," Monique reassures her friend that the sidekick is alright.

However, Kim was unconvince, "How can you be so sure," she paused a little before looking up, "Sorry Monique I gotta go," she left the school in a hurry in order to find Ron. Monique just shakes her head. She still thinks that Kim is overexaggerating and Ron is perfectly fine. Sooner or later she's gonna come back to school after being reassured that her best friend is okay. He's probably at home chilling.

Meanwhile Kim ran back to her home and sprinted to Ron's house that was next door. She knocks on the door but receive no answer. The dead silence only made her more anxious. She snuck behind the house and climb up the tree that was next to Ron's window. As she enters his room, she finds the place vacant. The furniture was still there but all his belongings were gone except for a photo of them when they were younger.
