The leader was alone in the lair staring angrily at the monkey statue. In a fit of rage, he slams the idol to the wall but quickly retrieve it before anyone suspected his disregard. The reason for his sudden burst of anger is that he is no close in encircling the Chosen One's whereabouts. He knew the boy must be hidden in Yamauchi. Unfortunately, none of their people came close to discovering the whereabouts of the ninja school. Some of their men had infiltrate the school in the past but they were always captured.

He needed a next strategy that will enable his men to enter the school ground without detection. Unfortunately, he has nothing.

He also noticed the absence of one of his assassins. He knew he told the man to leave however, none of his men could uncover the location where the assassin is at and it concerns him. What if he goes behind their back and turn on them? He knows the location of their headquarters and if he is not silence, he will tell the enemy where they are. He has to find him immediately and make sure he doesn't talk as it would reflect on him badly.

However, a thought then came to him. "That's it!" Instead of finding a way to infiltrate Yamauchi he should be looking for a way to weaken the clink in Shendu Stoppable's armor. He has something in mind.

.

Shendu begin the day by waking five o clock in the morning doing the usual drills and warm ups before continuing where he left off in his training. He had to start over from scratch as he was still a new comer and he was far behind from his peers. He could easily recall how tiresome it was doing this everyday and at the end of the day he was exhausted. He continued the same pattern every day. Waking up early in the morning, do his usual warm ups and training with his other classmates. Yet as they rise, he is left behind as he didn't graduate and still held on to the white belt that was tied around his waist.

Some of his upper classmates pointed fingers at him whispering in each other's ear as they wonder why they had to protect this failure. He has been here for several days now and still he couldn't make progress. Some of them then wonder if what their master say is wrong and he is not the one written in the prophecy.

Shendu can easily feel the doubts return to him. He didn't have anyone here to anchor him unlike his close bond to KP. The only people he may be close to is sensei and Yori but the time they spend is little to what he and KP went through. He then ponders if it was a mistake to come here.

After Shendu had failed to retrieve his lunch from the lunch lady he was force to spend the day without devouring anything. His stomach grumbles and there weren't any more food within the school. It's not like he can wander outside where there are people searching for him. Or so he thought as out of nowhere Yori asks if he wanted to come with her and Hirotaka.

Shendu quickly agrees wanting to grab something to eat. They left the school and wander in a small market where there is a small-time restaurant that sells ramen. There weren't any cameras around the area and the place was crowded with people making it very difficult for anyone to find them. They sat together on a small stool and order a bowl of ramen. Shendu quickly gobbles it down and then asks for seconds.

The shopkeeper was very nice to him and he was pleased to see that the boy loves his cooking. He was already familiar with Hirotaka and Yori as they were regular costumers of his.

When Shendu had his fill, they leave the shop and Yori went to buy ingredients for the school as a favor for the lunch lady. Hirotaka was far off talking to a group of men but was still keeping an eye on Shendu. Shendu stood in one place not knowing what to do as he was new here.

However, he looks one corner and saw a school girl picking up her books that were scattered on the ground. She had bumped into someone and lost her footing. She was in the market acquiring food for her and her parents.

Shendu slowly stroll over to her and help gather the books for her. The girl was momentary surprise to see a stranger offering him his help but was thankful for the extra pair of hands. Soon they rise and she brushes a strand of hair from her face. She was dress in her school uniform that consist of a black short skirt, a white school shirt and a red jacket with the schools emblem etched on the pocket. Long black socks were on her feet and she wore white sneakers.

The girl was an Asian with short black hair and sparkling green eyes. She may be young in her fifteens like him and she was very pretty. If he wasn't dating Tara right now, he could find himself asking her out on a date. It could happen as he had already cut ties from the rest of them so they are no longer together and he doubt Tara would wait for him to get back if he ever comes back. It's sad to say but it is over for them.

"Here," he says offering her the books.

The girl blushes and bows her head, "I'm terribly sorry and thank you very much," she thanked the kind young man and hurry home before it gets dark.

Shendu just watch her leave the market with a stun look on his face. The owner of the ramen shop was soon by his side chuckling amusingly, "So you've met Yumi-chan. She's a regular in the market as she lives next door. She's a pretty good kid. Ain't she?"

"She sure is," Shendu respond with a goofy grin liking her appearance as well as her aura. It feels like mellows calmly blowing in a small breeze. It feels very homey and Shendu finds himself relaxing in just her presence. He feels more relax than of late.

Soon Yori and Hirotaka had gather everything they needed and they were ready to head back to the school. Shendu trails behind them but something caught his eye. It was a quote from a calendar that was hanging from a nearby stall. It reads:

"The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don't wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope."

That quote wrack his brain with the force of a sledge hammer. Lately he felt completely hopeless not having any control over his life. He hasn't accomplished anything after arriving here and he knows he was disappointing his pupils. All he has ever done is sit in one place and pray for something good to happen but he knows that it doesn't work that way and he had to put in the effort. He may not have KP anymore but he can still will himself to stand up. He vows then that he would put in the effort and make a change.

.

The next day he shows the fruit of his effort by beating his opponent in a sparing match. The other students all applauded him and sensei rank him to a yellow belt.
