Chapter 29: The Accident

Kim and the others stood before the fallen building with shock looks on their faces. The entire structure collapsed. Many people were around them with their camera phones on recording the whole thing. Police vehicles and fire trucks were there to put out the fire and the officers clear the area to conduct their investigation.

Meanwhile Kim was in denial, "No, Ron couldn't be... he couldn't be dead."

She runs at the front of the building while the firemen diminish the flames. One of the firemen saw her and saw that she was about to enter the burning building. Before she could reach inside that fireman snatches her yelling what she is thinking. Kim fought to get out of his grip, "Let me go! My friend is in there!"

The fireman didn't listen to her and put her back with the crowd. Monique restrains her friend so she wouldn't run carelessly into the fire. However, the other girl would complain yelling to let her go but Monique refuse to loosen her grip. Soon the fire was put out and the police went into the fallen building to see if there were any survivors.

The girls, Logan and Felix listen to what the police had discovered. They said they couldn't find the cause of the explosion. There wasn't any detonator nor bomb anywhere in the building. The police couldn't find the remnants of a bomb. A few witnesses were close to the area and they said that they saw a flash of blue light before the whole building collapses. The light was so bright it blinded them momentary.

Luckily there wasn't anyone in the building. The police did a whole sweep of the place and didn't turn up with any corpses.

Kim was relieved to know that Ron wasn't in the building but she got more worried wondering where could he be. Was he kidnap like what she had first thought? Whoever cause this explosion must be the kidnapper. She vows to find Ron and make his kidnapper pay for taking him.

She walks away from the crowd just when the journalists came to report their story. Her friends all flank her sides as they stride determine to learn the truth.

She walks some distance and pull out her communicator to get through to Wade. "Hey Kim what do you need?" Wade asks already knowing the jest and that their friend is still missing.

"Wade I need you to check all the cameras around this area. See if any of them pick up something strange."

"Ok-dookie," he hangs up.

Kim gazes up and walk away from the crime scene.

Monique was at her home painting her nails after they had return from the crime scene. She needed some time alone. What she saw today shook her. Just imagine this happening to one of them. Well, it did happen to one of them but thankfully he wasn't in the building.

"But if he wasn't in the building, where could he be?" she asks herself.

Each one of them separated but they plan to meet up again. Even Bonnie will be there. She says she doesn't care about Ron but one, look at her and everyone knew she was worried for him.

Right now, they were waiting to see what Wade had uncover from the footage. He's currently going through the footage as she speaks.

Wade was in his room watching a whole days footage from several buildings nearby. He covered his head with a blanket and his eyes were sunken as he has watched the same tape over and over again.

Meanwhile Monique looks at the picture of him in her phone. She only did this out of a whim but didn't regret it as he look spanking in that suit but now it pains her to see him like this as this might be the last time, she ever saw him if they don't find him quickly. She wanted to show this to Kim and tell her how much a hottie her best friend actually is but now she knows now is not the best time for it. She decides to delete the image. However, her finger wavers as she took a good look of the photo in the store. She pales when she saw something she wasn't supposed to see.
