Humiliated as much as I was, I had the nerve to call Derrick back and apologize for my rude interference earlier. I tried calling him but all I got was voicemail. Gosh, I hope he's okay.
Finally after two hours of trying to call him he finally picked up, I told him I was sorry and before I knew it he was back at my door again. Quickly running to my couch, he through his feet up on the table, reminding me of Harold's feet there last week.
I glared at him and he slowly put his feet back up on the couch, he smiled at me and slapped the couch for me to come sit next to him. Realizing I just woke up from a long nap, my face was probably a state. But I didn't care, it's not like he was my boyfriend.
I felt his fingers lock with mine and I didn't even pull away, I didn't even hesitate to pull away. I just looked at him, I blushed and my cheeks stung because I smiled so much. Butterflies were flying around my stomach like they never before. He turned my head so I could look him in the eyes.
He turned back away and walked upstairs. Stunned by his reaction, I quickly followed him. He stood up in my room and walked over to me. His hand gently grabbed my waist and pulled it in close to his body. Tingles went through my whole body, every sound blocked out and it was just me and him.
He looked into my eyes, then at my lips. He bit his lip, and then without even blinking, I felt his lips against mine. He pulled away, just after the first peck. I didn't want it to end, he was so amazing, my heart was beating out of my chest and I felt dizzy.
This was no normal feelings, he made me forget about the tragic past and he made me worry about the beautiful future ahead. He looked at me and moved over by ear, brushing my hair back and told me he wanted to take things slow.
I nodded and kissed him on the cheek. He locked his fingers with mine and lead me outside to the backyard. I didn't realize he never left my backyard since I had that outburst earlier. Realizing he made a bench for me and him, just to come out on, and watch the whole city light up. Sure it might be a weird thing, but no guy have ever been this sweet.
I sat down on the bench and he sat down with me, his arm wrapped around my body and I loved every second of it. The stars rose in the sky and soon the city lit up, lights were everywhere, the scenery was so beautiful. Not realizing how nice things are, I was always to tied up in mischief to even realize how nice everything was.
Derrick stood up and sat on the other side of me, took my hand and looked me striaght in the eyes. My heart was almost out of my chest, what was he going to say.
"Kate, will you be my girl"
Quickly I answered.
"Yes"
I was finally happy, I mean I had everything I ever wanted really now. A tragic past and a new beginning. I was finally someone's girl. Lying back down in his arms, I could here him doze of and his heavy breathing. Looking up at the starts before I fell asleep too, I caught a light, squinting abit I realized it was the ghost, she smiled and then disappeared.
I looked up at the stars and whispered rest in peace.
