Chapter 11

Eleanor's pov:

I woke up to my alarm clock beeping. I rolled over and faced my mama. "Mama!" I squealed hugging her tight. "Mmm bambina what time is it?" She asked rubbing her eyes and sitting up.

"7:00. School.." I sighed. I looked over at mama with puppy eyes begging to stay home. "Ahh. No bambina. You have to go to school." Mama said firmly. There was that voice again. It made me want to cry, I nodded and stood up.

I walked over to my closet and scanned it for my new outfit. It was black bell bottoms with a black shirt with sun flowers on it. I was so exited to show Mila. She was my best friend but something felt different about her. The way she smiled, the way she laughed. "Bambina?" Mama snapped me out of my thoughts. "Yea?" I turned around to face her. "Whatcha thinking about?" She asked raising a eyebrow.

"How could you tell?" I said pouting. "Mothers always know" she said shrugging her shoulders

On the way to school I stayed quiet. I wasn't sure what to talk about. That firm voice was echoing in my head.

"Bye mama, love you." I said getting out of the car and blowing her a kiss.

In first period I walked up to my table and sat down. Matt wasn't there? I assumed he stayed home or was skipping per usual, I was kinda glad.

After PE I headed straight to lunch to talk to mila, we also had 3rd period together.

"Mila!" I squealed running over to our table. "You look so cute!" She exclaimed making my stomach flutter. "Thanks" I blushed.

3rd period was so boring. Mr mark was rude too. Mila made it better for me though, she always spoke back to him when he was mean.

5th period came around, history. I looked around the class to find Matt talking to the teacher? "Matt?" I said walking up to him. "Ugh your in this class?" He spat, turning what was a good day into a horrible day. "What are you wearing? You look ridiculous." He laughed. "What are you wearing? Oh that's right, the same damn thing from yesterday! Do you not have other clothes?" I yelled back.

"Eleanor that's enough!" The teacher yelled back. My heart sank.

"Go to the office. Your parents will be called to come pick you up."

On my way to the office I didn't even try to stop my tears. I couldn't. I needed my mom and mama. What if they didn't want me?

I sat down in the office, the room felt like it was closing in on me. It was hard to breathe, I couldn't focus on anything. My ears starting ringing.

I was shook back to reality by Maya. "What happened?" She asked. I couldn't find the words. I couldn't talk. I started sobbing. It was hard to breathe and I was choking on my tears.

"Oh okay. Okay. It's okay." Maya said trying to calm me down.

"Bambina what happened." Carina tried to get me to talk.

"Mama.." I managed to get out. "Okay bambina come here."

After my tears had slowed and it was easier to breathe they asked again what happened. My lip started quivering at the thought of Maya and Carina being mad.

"I think I better explain." My teacher scowled. "She was in class and a boy, Matt was talking to me, and she started yelling at him because he teased her. She wouldn't apologize, so here we are." He said glaring at me between each word.

"Uh? He shouldn't have been teasing her?" Mama said raising her eyebrows. "It's just boys being boys. He probably had a crush on her, she didn't need to take it that far."

I looked over at Maya, she had this look of pure anger on her face. I've never seen her that mad. I couldn't tell if it was at me or the teacher.

"Nope. Nope nope nope. You can't just use that as an excuse for him to make fun of my daughter!" She snapped back.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. She wasn't mad at me, she was mad at my teacher.

"Bambina? Why don't we go outside. I think Mayas got it.?" Mama said with a wink. I reluctantly took her hand and walked out of the school, relieved that nightmare was over.

I got in the back seat and was surprised when mama opened the door and scooted next to me.

"Come here bambina. Tell me what happened." Mama said playing with my long brown hair. "Well... kinda like the teacher said, but he didn't give me a chance to say sorry, and Matt said I looked ridiculous. He's always mean mama. He makes fun of me for having 2 moms and for everything I do." I said all in one breath.

"Oh piccolina." Mama said with a pout. "Well it's all over now, I'm sure Maya ripped them a new one" mama giggled seeing Maya strut over to the car like she was on-top of the world.

"Welp that's settled." She said looking back at us, grinning from ear to ear.

"Oh Bella, what did you do." Carina said shaking her head. I giggled at her. "Wellll I wanted to talk to the principal because that guy was such a diiii... dinosaur!..." Maya said, trying to save herself, mama glared at her and gave her the we'll talk at home look.

She finished explaining what happened, and Matt got ISS for 2 days. I was happy with it, but sad he was still coming back to class after the 2 days.
