Chapter 15

Mayas pov:

I woke up in the middle of the night, not sure why. But for some reason I couldn't go back to sleep. Without opening my eyes I rolled over to put my arm around my beautiful wife, but was met with a empty bed.

I patted the bed a couple of times, before opening my eyes to reveal I wasn't dreaming. I lay in bed for a few minutes, before I heard retching sounds from the bathroom.

I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom, to find a very exhausted, crying, Carina. I sat down next to her and pulled her hair out of her face. After 10 minutes I helped her to her feet and we got back in bed.

We cuddled together for a few minutes before I heard her whimper. I opened my eyes to look at her, she had sweat beading on her face. She took a deep breath before letting out a frustrated sob. I rubbed her back, trying to soothe her but it wasn't working.

I got up to go get her medicine but before I could leave she let out a frustrated whine. "Stay.." she whined. "I'll be right back." I pleaded. "Please" she cried, opening her arms for me to come back and snuggle her.

"Alright fine." I huffed, walking over to her side of the bed, and scooping her up like a small child. I carried her into the kitchen, got her Tylenol and some water, and brought her back to bed.

After we woke back up, it was around 6:30. We just snuggled in bed, with her head on my chest until I heard her sniffling. I sat her up and asked what's wrong, while hugging my very emotional wife.

"Y-you have... to work" she choked out in between sobs.

"Hey. I'm fire captain. I can play hookie." I said smiling at her, laying back down.

We layed together, almost drifting off to sleep when our door creaked open. "Mommiesss" Ellie sang, in a low whisper tone. "Shhh" I said gesturing to the sleepy beast on my chest. "Come here bambina." Carina said groggily, Ellie happily climbed into bed next to us.

Ellie sat up behind Carina, she looked at me with a pout. He lip started to quiver as the tears started to fall. "Hey hey, what's wrong baby girl?" I soothed.

"School.." she said looking at the clock. "No school today." Carina demanded before I got a chance to reply. "What she said" I laughed at my sleepy wife. Ellie smiled before laying back down.

I woke up a hour later, with a stinky raccoon on my chest instead of my wife and daughter. I heard giggling as I looked towards the door, seeing my girls peeking in at me. "Hey!" I said throwing a pillow at Ellie. She giggled before running away.

Carina walked over to the bed, and snuggled up next to me. "Feeling better I see?" I said winking at her. "Kinda. I know something that will make me fully better?" She said raising a eyebrow. "Oh really?" I asked tilting my head, just then my adorable 11 year old ran into our room and jumped onto the bed. "Hey! You don't wanna end up like the 5 little monkeys!" I said giggling.

"Mommy what are we going to do today?" Ellie asked tilting her head. "I was thinking we could go to the pool and invite mi-" before I finished her name Ellie said "MILA!" And started jumping on the bed.

I giggled at her, before going to get my swimsuit.

Once all of us packed our bags, I called Milas mom to ask if it would be okay. I had forgotten today was a school day, but her mom was happy to pick her up early. Our girls absolutely adored each other and where with each other any chance they got.

About an hour later milas mom came over and dropped her off. Upon Mila walking in the door, Ellie sprinted full speed at her, wrapping her in a big hug. "I missed you!" Mila squealed. "Me too!" Ellie said letting of her best friend.

"Mi, I'll be back to get you whenever you guys get back. Love you!" She smiled softly. "Bye mom" mila said hugging her.

After her mom left we all got into the car and made our way to the pool. "Mila you'll have to see my new swimsuit! It's so cute!" Ellie said, I enjoyed listening to their small talk, it was so cute. "I'm sure you'll look amazing as always." Mila said grinning.

Ellie's cheeks turned bright red, I snapped my head around to look at Carina. Carina smirked at me. "Not funny" I mouthed.

After we all changed into our swimsuits, we walked into the gated pool area. When we got their mila jumped straight in and shrieked at the cold water. Ellie laughed at her best friend.

I made my way over to Carina, pulling her into a hug. "May I?" I asked. Carina nodded, not knowing what she was granting permission too.

I quickly scooped her up into my arms, and ran towards the pool, jumping in with her.

"MAYA!" She screamed before going underwater. Ellie laughed so hard she turned red, mila also enjoyed the show.

After a while, me and Carina got out of the pool, leaving the girls to play. I was watching as mila and Ellie whispered to each other, the burst out laughing. "What do you think they're talking about?" I asked Carina, "I don't know Bella, but I don't think you want to know" Carina winked. "Grosss. She's my baby." I said pouting. "Bella she's 11." Carina said laughing at me.

"She's almost 12." I said gasping. Her birthday was only a month away. "Mamaaaa!" Ellie whined, walking over to us. "Bambinaaa" Carina mocked.

"I'm so tired" she whined. Carina opened her arms wide for her baby to come cuddle. Mila got out of the water and made her way over to us. I watched as mila walked over to Carina, whispered something in her ear, making Carina laugh.

"What was that?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "Nothing it's just uh.." mila started giggling.
"Your sunburnt already" she said giggling at my red face.

"Wowww Okayy. I see how it is." I said eyeing mila, making her giggle. I loved having her company. She was so sweet, and loved my daughter.

"Are you guys hungry?" I asked. "Starved" Mila said, faking fainting into her chair. I laughed at her, "your starting to act like us. We are always hungry." I said referring to my family.

"I think mommy is always hungry, and is thinking for us" Ellie said, "I think so too" mila said with a wink. "You little brats!" I said, picking up both of them, and carefully throwing them into the pool.

"Heyyy!" Mila shouted, giggling climbing out of the pool. "Let's go eat. Apparently I always think for you guys" I said rolling my eyes.

Mila was such a sweet girl, she was starting to warm up to me and Carina and trust us. Ellie seemed so happy around her, and I loved it.
