Ellie's pov:

Tomorrow was the big day. We were moving tomorrow. I wasn't as worried as before but I couldn't stop being anxious. I sighed as a layed in bed, unable to fall asleep after tossing and turning for what felt like hours.

I pulled out my phone to message mila,

Hey, you awake?

No reply.

I felt myself getting more and more frustrated with the situation. I wanted to sleep to get it all over with but I couldn't. I would go see mama, she always stayed up late but I didn't want to burden her, I felt bad bothering her now days because she was pregnant and had a lot on her mind.

I could go to mom but mom falls asleep faster than mama, being pregnant made mama a night owl. But, if I woke up mom I would feel bad for disturbing her sleep. Plus if I woke mom, mama would know I was awake.

There wasn't anything I could do, I let out a frustrated sob, and a few tears slipped out.

All of the sudden I heard a scratching noise coming from the bottom of my bedpost.

I quickly looked down to see a grey fur ball pawing at my bedpost wanting up into my bed.

"Hey buddy" I whispered, scooping him into my bed. I normally would put him into his cage at night just to be safe but I guess I had forgotten.

"Cant sleep either?" I joked, knowing chinchillas don't usually sleep at night.

I know I had felt nervous before but with dusty I couldn't feel nervous, he made my problems melt away.

"Alright buddy I know I can't sleep but you need to go in your cage my friend." I giggled, getting out of bed and walking into the living room.

I went into the living room, placed Dustin in his cage and went into the kitchen to find a snack since I wouldn't be sleeping anytime soon.

When I reached the kitchen I saw mama sitting on the counter eating what looked like a tomato covered in peanut butter. Seeing her made me scream. "Shit you scared me" I breathed out. "Language!" She laughed.

"What are you doing?" I said, gesturing to the tomato.

"Ahh. It's pretty good?" She said, shrugging her shoulders.

"What are we doing?" Mom said, sleepily walking into the kitchen.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you"

"Well I heard you scream so" she laughed.

We all eventually went to bed.

We all woke up extremely early and packed our final boxes. After loading up the car and shedding a few tears we were off to our new home.

After about a 5 minute drive, which was way too short for my liking, I was wanting to put off this whole thing as long as I could.

We turned onto the street, the street sign read: "Cornelia street". We pulled up to a 2 story house with a beautiful back yard. It looked nice but I wasn't too sure yet.

We went in and looked around, planning out what room was what once again due to mom's orders. I finally got to see the queen of clipboards in action.

We grabbed our boxes and began unpacking.

After a long day of moving we were almost done but called it a day because we were all tired. My room was done we just needed to finish mom and mamas, the living room and the guest room.

All the furniture was put together we just needed to unpack decorations. Mom ordered pizza and we all ate in our new house.

And just like that, a new chapter of my life had begun.

I know it's short but it's kinda just a filler chapter, I felt they needed a new house with the baby on the way you know? 🤷‍♀️
