{Two Weeks Later}

"Already out here?" J.J's voice speaks as I nod. My eyes blood shot and my lips quiver. It's starting to get colder. But I keep pushing myself. It's the only thing keeping me going. Well Hailee actually is. We haven't spoken still. It's been two weeks since she ran off. J.J said she's texted Hailee but hasn't heard anything. And when I went online I saw she was back in New York filming Dickinson.

I look up from the pool noodle and to J.J who sits down and puts her feet into the pool.

"You're blowing up on the inter webs," J.J says with a small smile. "Your video is still being talked about."

I nod, swimming around slightly. "It doesn't really matter till I can get better. I have chemo in the morning."

J.J nods. "I know. Your aunt called to see if I could take you. You look exhausted Y/n."

I nod in agreement. "I am tired J.J. The chemo for the last two weeks sucks. I feel like my life is slipping away and doing therapy for my legs doesn't help any. Just adds pressure to everything."

J.J tilts her head, looking down to her hands moments later. "Maybe you should just focus on the chemo. Your legs can-"

"I'm not waiting. I already made that mistake once. I'm not going to make it again," I say, cutting the girl off. "Will you help me out? I've been in here for hours and I scraped my leg trying to get out."

J.J's eyes go wide as I paddle towards her and the end of the pool. She grabs my hand and I pull myself up with my upper body strength I still somehow have.

I get up and see the scratch. It wasn't too bad. The water stopped it from bleeding I guess.

"At least it's not bad," J.J says looking at it. She moves my leg slightly and I flinch. Both of our eyes going wide. Swiftly I raise my head up and meet her wide eyes. "Did you just-"

"Flinch? Yeah," I say finishing her sentence. Both of our heads go back down and she pokes around the scratch again. Each time my leg flinching. "Okay it's starting to hurt the more you do it."

J.J jumps up and tosses her arms up into the air like she's Rocky. I tilt my head and she kicks her legs into the air. I chuckle as she bends down and helps me up into the wheelchair.

"This is huge! Huge I tell you!" She says excitedly and I nod slowly.

"It's something," I respond and feel my phone ring. I glance down and see it's Ester. A low sigh escapes my lips as I answer it. "Hey. What's up?"

"Hey how you doing?" Ester asks and I shrug, looking at J.J who's dancing around like she just won the golden ticket.

"Fine. Tired," I say, hearing rustling of papers in the background on Ester's end.

"To be expected. I just wanted to call to let you know that I'm not going to be available for the next month. I have a family emergency and have to head out of town. I'll have my cellphone on me but I just wanted to let you know. Plus I'm sure you're not wanting to do anything music related till you're feeling better."

I nod. "Yeah you're right. Hope everything alright Ester."

"Thanks. I'll talk to you later. Stay positive, stay strong Y/n." I pull the phone from my ear and hang up looking at J.J who's still dancing around barefoot.

"J.J-" I go to speak but feel my phone ding. A sigh escapes my lips and I look down. My eyes scan the screen seeing a message from Hailee. I tilt my head and immediately open it. It's a video. I tilt my head and hit play.

Music blares out from the phone. People were dancing and drinking. Swiftly I look at the time in my phone. It's 8 pm here so it's... about 11 or midnight her time. I shake my head seeing her place the phone on herself. She was drunk. She was giggling and sipping on something as she looks directly into the camera.

"I fucking miss you," she shouts into the phone and my heart aches. The video ends and I just stare at it. The video on my phone.

"What was that?" J.J asks. I slowly pick up my head and meet J.J's eyes.

"You're taking me to New York. Now."
