{Three Days Later}

"If you wanna go then I'll be so lonely," I hum as my fingers dance along the piano keys. My eyes closed, focusing solemnly on the music. Something I haven't been able to do in a while. "If you're leaving baby, let me down slowly."

I pull my fingers away from the keys and open my eyes. I readjust myself on the bench and tap my fingers together, staring at the keys. My head slowly bopping up and down before my hands go back to the keys.

"Could you find a way to let me down slowly?
A little sympathy, I hope you can show me
If you wanna go then I'll be so lonely
If you're leavin', baby, let me down slowly
Let me down, down, let me down, down, let me down
Let me down, down, let me down, down, let me down
If you wanna go then I'll be so lonely
If you're leavin', baby, let me down slowly."

I play the keys a minute gathering my thoughts, the melody flowing smoothly.

"Cold skin, drag my feet on the tile
As I'm walking down the corridor
And I know we haven't talked in a while
So I'm looking for an open door
Don't cut me down, throw me out, leave me here to waste
I once had dignity and grace
Now I'm slippin' through the cracks of your cold embrace
So please, please.

Could you find a way to let me down slowly?
A little sympathy, I hope you can show me
If you wanna go then I'll be so lonely
If you're leavin', baby, let me down slowly
Let me down, down, let me down, down, let me down
Let me down, down, let me down, down, let me down
If you wanna go then I'll be so lonely
If you're leavin', baby, let me down slowly."

I pull my hands away and grab the pen and journal writing down everything as quickly as possible. It was something.

"You're writing again?" A voice speaks causing me to jump and spin. I glance over my shoulder to find J.J leaning against the door frame. I let a small smile trail into my lips.

"Had a feeling," I said, turning away from her and back down to the paper, continuing the lyrics rather swiftly. I hear J.J walk over and then feel her presence beside me. She sits down and hits one of the keys. I stop writing and set the paper to the side.

"You and Hailee aren't breaking up are you?" J.J asks and I shake my head rapidly.

"No, no. I just... some of the lyrics I thought of when Hailee and I were apart a couple months ago. I just finally now, thought of it again and found the melody," I inform J.J as she nods, crossing her leg over her knee.

"How you feeling?" J.J asks and I shrug.

"Better than I have I suppose. Still tired though," I respond, slumping a bit on my sitting position. I glance to J.J and see her nod. "How are you?"

"I'm good. I met somebody," J.J says and my eyes go wide.

"That's great J.J!" I happily say, flickering my eyes back and forth between her eyes. She smiles lightly and nods.

"He makes me happy. We should all have dinner one night so you can meet him. Tell me what you think."

"I was always good at seeing the red flags in people for you," I say causing J.J to chuckle, nodding her head.

"I really hope he doesn't have any. I think this is the one."

I smile. "You have no idea how happy that makes me to hear you say that."

J.J shrugs then laughs tearing her eyes from me. "I really thought it was going to be us. But I know now it was always one sided but when I met Damon, everything changed. I changed for the better."
