"Excuse me, do you need help?"
Tenko glanced up, then quickly back down at his lap, his face hot as he tried to remember how to breathe. He'd seen this girl before, here at the park, but she seemed to be a year younger than him.
He fidgeted in place, glancing around to try and see where his other friends had gone, but there were too many kids in the playground. His hand was bleeding, he had tripped earlier playing 'hero' and grazed himself a bit. Enough for his skin to trickle red.
The girl was still standing there, patiently waiting for his answer. He finally nodded, his gaze still fixed straight ahead.
"Okay!" She sat down beside him, close enough that he could feel her warmth but not so close that they touched. That in itself was a relief, but Tenko couldn't hide his nervousness. He squirmed in his seat, kicked his feet back and forth, and gripped his hands tightly together as he continued searching for his friends. He wasn't entirely certain what you could do for him, after all, you were younger than him.
She took out a small bandage from the pockets of her dress, a tissue, and hand sanitizer.
Usually, Tenko wasn't the type to be shy, he approached any kid who seemed lonely or wanted to play. But for some reason, he couldn't seem to talk to this one girl. He watched from his spot how she gently squeezed some hand sanitizer on his hand, warning him it might sting.
"But don't worry, I'll blow on it." She said, her lips pursed as the cold gel touched his skin, a slight stinging starting to begin. But the cool small gust of air hit his hand, as she blew, and his focus didn't falter from her.
She then applied a bandage over his cut, smoothing it over with focus. It was pink with little strawberries on them. It definitely wasn't Tenko's style, but for some strange reason, he felt like protecting this bandage with all his life.
"There, all done." She smiled softly, her hand softly patting his, "Much better."
The rest of the day, he continued playing with his friends but he couldn't help but take glances at the mysterious girl. In fact, as she played by herself in the sandpit corner, he watched her steadily, so much so that every time he snuck a peek up at her, he was shocked to find her already staring back at him. Smiling at him so brightly, that was the first time Tenko remembered feeling breathless.
He wished to have been brave enough to ask her for her name that day. But he swallowed his wish, hoping one day he would see her again.
PRESENT
"Oi shitty hair, where's Y/N? We've been waiting for more than 10 minutes."
"Bro you haven't heard?" Kirishima titled his head in confusion, "She got a job at another school."
"EHH?!"
You crept up behind the blond-haired boy, catching him by surprise as you yanked on his shoulders shouting a loud "BOO!"
Bakugo stumbled back, quickly finding his footing again while his eyes narrowed further staring at both you and Kirishima. You were sure you had just signed your death wish, but the look on Bakugo's face was 100% worth it.
A frown flashed across his face as you and Kirishima laughed, watching the angry gremlin as he grabbed Kirishimia from the collard, threatning to blow his ear off.
"Aww did someone miss me?" You said, making Bakugo roll his eyes as he let go of his best friend, Kirishima quickly hiding behind you as he smiled widely.
Bakugo gave a dismissive grunt, "As if, I could care less about an old lady."
You sighed, shaking your head, "I'm only 20"
