The first day you met Hawks. You remembered it like it was yesterday.
He was 13 and you were 12.
And he was NOT happy about Endeavor sponsoring you.
"Why do I have to train her?" Hawks demanded, throwing his hands up in frustration.
"You're not. I am." Aizawa glared, "You're training with her."
"But whyy.. She doesn't even block any of my attacks, she just stands there."
You found yourself unable to speak.
"Her quirk is still an anomaly to us" Aizawa spoke, "And because you both have a secret background, she can only train with you. Once we get everything sorted out we're enrolled her in school."
Hawks made a tutting noise with his tongue.
You turned back to face Aizawa with a concerned expression.
"Now, continue training. And Y/N, actually try to attack Hawks. We need to see your quirk in order to then teach you how to control it."
You sighed, eyes dropping to the floor as both you and Hawks proceeded to your normal places on the mat.
Hawks glanced at you, and with a slight nod, he was off. If there was one thing you had learned that day was not to underestimate his speed.
Ever.
You began to defend some of his blows with difficulty, finding it hard to ever get on the offense. Not to mention Hawks stupid feathers kept creating cuts all over your legs and arms.
"Too slow orphan."
He increased his speed.
"Don't disappoint Endeavor now."
He decreased his speed.
"Aww look at those ugly cuts"
He went to the left.
"Ah!-"
Hawks stopped mid attack and watched as you grabbed one of his feathers that was cutting you, and made it vaporize with the touch of your hands.
"Finally." Hawks let out a long breath, "About time you fought back."
The problem with your quirk was every time you tried to control it, it ended up controlling you.
Hawks felt a wave of hot pressure and energy launched at him. His wings speed didn't compare to that of your atomic power.
He landed hard on his back, you on your hands and knees above him. Hawks breathed hard, catching his breath, meanwhile you didn't even look hurt, just stunned. Your faces were closer than they had ever been before, leaving nowhere for your eyes to go but directly into his.
Hawks might've tried to deny it and say that you were just a normal kid with some impressive and powerful quirk, but the truth was, he knew you were more than that.
You were a creation of someone else. That your quirk wasn't yours.
"Don't mention my past ever again." You whispered, "Or I'll tell all the girls in our grade that you still sleep with your endeavor plushie."
Hawks felt his feather being vaporized one by one. And it wasn't until Aizawa had to come and grab you by the collar that you realized you had cause the whole room to crack. A zigzag line across the whole ceiling and floor from the pressure of your quirk.
