"And so, when the King of Chaos sent is magic at the Great Hero..." The students of class 1-D sat in history class as Mr. Wakiza taught them again one of his long, boring lessons. Just hero is and hero that...
"As the apparent King of Chaos, I'm kind of offended..." In the back of the room Leopold playing with his quill as he thought on other things. "Wonder when we will be told who's going to Academy Four for the competition. I know we have multiple weeks, but still..."
"MISTER STRATUS!" Leopold was jolted out of his thoughts at the booming call of Mr. Wakiza. "Now Mr. Stratus, I hope that you are not daydreaming again. What is this? The ninth time now?!"
Leopold nervously laughed. "I'm sorry, sir. I'm just thinking as always."
"No, you're never thinking..." Mr. Wakiza remarked. "But you probably should because we've got an important message from the higher ups..."
"Pardon, Mr. Wakiza?" Nix asked from the other side of the room.
"Yes, we have finally gotten the results of who will be going to fight Academy Four second semester..." He started writing on the board as many of class 1-D students chattered in awe.
Leopold's eyes widened and a grin crossed his face. "It's finally here! Took them long enough..."
When Mr. Wakiza finally finished what he was writing on the board, he turned back to the kids. "As many of you know, twenty-one students from our school will be traveling to Academy 4 and as it happens six of those are from class 1-D."
"That's quite a bit..." Zion observed.
"Yes, the most ever seen from a class D of this school." Mr. Wakiza agreed. "These four are listed as...
Rank number three in class 1-D and number five overall, Nix Claw.
"Yay!" Nix exclaimed. "That's so cool!"
Rank number twelve in the class and number eight overall, Zion White.
"Sweet!" Zion grinned and swished his hair back. "I guess my charms worked."
Rank number twenty in the class and fourth overall, Leopold Stratus.
"Man that's sad." Leopold mumbled. "Twenty in the class? Am I really that bad?"
"Pretty much." Zion commented, laughing."
Rank number two in the class and fifty-sixth overall, Carla Claw.
"Well good." Carla growled. "I was not about to let Nix go to this competition without a watching eye."
"You are way too overprotective, sis." Nix sighed.
Rank number one 114th overall, Jason Rose.
Leopold looked over at the boy named. Jason Rose was a quiet kid from a peasant family and wasn't all that strong in magic. However, his intelligence was off the charts and that had gotten him rank one in the class. "It's no surprise that he made it. Still, he sure is an oddball..."
Rank number nineteen and 29th overall, Sparrow Draiigon.
The last person to be named was Sparrow Draiigon. She was a Dragonman and apparently engaged to the unnamed heir to the throne of the Dragonmen.
Leopold watched her and a light inside his head was turned on. "That's right! She was the girl I first met after I became part of the Elite Eight. She seems nice enough, so maybe I can talk to her sometime."
"These are the representatives of class 1-D this year." Mr. Wakiza surmised. "I hope that you six will defeat those bastards from Academy 4!"
"Geez... Overexcited much?" Leopold wondered, not expressing those thoughts aloud. While wondering, the bell signaled the end of the period and the students of Class 1-D rose from their seats for the break.
