[Narrator]

The waiter guided the family to a reserved seating that Justin chose. It was close to the back but not too far back to the point where they were isolated.

There was also a window to their side and Justin chose this because he knew Tiana loved window seats. Whenever he'd drop her at school, she was always looking out the window.

While driving here even, Justin glanced at the rear view mirrors and saw Tiana looking out the window.

Oh Tiana.

Tiana was sitting right next to her mom and Justin sat across from them.

"Thanks for bringing us here, Justin." Roquelle smiled at him. "It was no problem." He said.

Moments later a middle aged waiter came up to us.

"Good evening. What drinks will we be having tonight?" He asked getting his notepad and pen ready.

"Do you have Capri sun?" Tiana asked curiously.

Oh Jesus...Roquelle thought.

Justin pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes trying not to laugh.

The waiter cracked a smile. "No but we have lemonade."

"She'll have the lemonade, please." Roquelle chuckled.

Tiana loved lemonade anyway.

"And you Madam?"

"Sprite,Thank you."

"Same." Justin said.

The waiter nodded and left.

"Look at you trying to be a copycat." Roquelle shook her head.

Justin rolled His eyes. "You should know that I love Sprite."

"I know. I'm just messing around." Roquelle smiled.

The waiter returned with their drinks and took their orders.

This moment right now meant so much to Tiana. To have her mom and dad in the same place actually talk with each other....

She felt like they were in one of those happy family movies where nothing could go wrong. She looked at Justin with so much admiration before putting her hands over her face.

"Tiana, are you alright?" Justin asked her. Why was she covering her face?

"Y-yes," she sniffed.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Roquelle asked moving tiana's hands from her face only to see her cheeks wet with tears.

Justin's heart broke.

"N-nothin. I'm just happy that we're t-together.." She said as her mom wiped Tiana's face with a napkin.

"I'm happy too, sweetie." Roquelle smiled.

Justin then knew Tiana has waited forever for this moment. All she wanted was to be near him..

"Would you like it if we could go out again?" Justin smiled at Tiana.

"Yes.." She brightened up. "Where to?" Justin asked.

"To the zoo. I haven't gone there in a while.."

Justin looked at Roquelle and she smiled in approval.

"Mommy, when is it time for me to go to daddy?" She asked. "Next week, actually.''

Tiana smiled. "Okay."

___

"Goodnight daddy." Tiana said hugging her dads waist. Justin kissed her forehead and she did the same before going up the stairs.

"Thank you Justin, for tonight." Roquelle said to him as she opened the door wider for him to come in.

"No need to thank. I should have done those kind of things from the start."

"Its alright Justin. And don't put too much pressure on yourself. I saw how nervous you were at dinner."

"I wasn't nervous.."

"Ohh yes you were. But hey, you're new to this whole Dad thing, so I understand. Its a very new experience for you."

"You're right." Justin said looking at her. She knew him so well.

The thing was though, Justin really didn't want to be replaced. He wanted to be there for Tiana.

"I am." Roquelle chuckled.

"That know it all, attitude." Justin rolled his eyes.

"Um, I'm the one who thinks they're a know it all? please." Roquelle said crossing her arms.

"I'm just playing." He smiled.

"Anyway I have to get going. " Justin said. "Later, Justin." Roquelle smiled.

-the next week-

|Justin|

I watched as Tiana pressed buttons on the new massage chair I had placed in the main floor living room.

She was definitely loving that thing. The way she was relaxing on it made it seem as though she had sent through a lot of stress in all her 40 years of life.

"I'd but us massage chair, but I know that little girl will abuse it and make it not work ever again." Roquelle said crossing her arms and grinnig.

I smiled. "Yeah, well."

"Anyway where's Lauren?" Roquelle asked looking around.

"She has a really busy photoshoot today." I answered.

"You dropped Tiana off really early. I wasn't really expecting you both until 4, its 1." I asked her.

"Not only was she begging me to drop her off earlier because she missed you so much and started to throw a fit..,but Landon is taking me to meet his parents, today."

"His parents?" I asked her kind of shocked.

"Yes. He clearly says a lot about me, and his parents really want to meet me."

"You two are getting pretty serious. " I noticed. "Serious but not too serious. He's just going to show me off. He's so fabulous." Roquelle chuckled.

I bit my lip and looked down at the floor for a few seconds.

"Hey that reminds me, how's your mother?" Roquelle asked. "I haven't seen Pattie in forever and I miss her."

"She's just fine. I notified her about Tiana not too long ago And she says she wants to come in a couple of days to visit."

"I really Want to see her."

I smiled. "She'd be happy to see you as well." I said in all honesty.

My mother absolutely adored Roquelle way back when we were together. I wasn't the best son before but Roquelle really did a lot to help me and even sacrificed time to do so.

She's the one that got me to start picking up in school and things like that. I was Also very happy whenever she was around. When I brought Roquelle over to home, my mother felt that she owed a lot to Roquelle.

No matter how stubborn I was, Roquelle never gave up on me.

"I have to get going, Justin." She said.

"Oh, bye Roquelle." I said giving her a small smile.
