RD2 - 010: Constructive criticism

GARNET: Steven, what's your idea?

STEVEN: To use Mom's fountain.

AMETHYST: Steven, you are rocking! — She praised him, laughing.

GARNET: Hum... Maybe it could work. — She said thoughtfully.

PEARL: What? You can't be serious. Rose's tears can heal cracks, but unite pieces?! [pause] And if it works, won't she come back in her diamond size and end up destroying the whole place?!

RED: Fountain? Rose's tears?

GARNET: Rose Quartz had healing powers. Her tears could heal cracks in gems.

RED: And do you have that too? — she asked Steven.

STEVEN: I have a healing spit.

GARNET: I don't think Steve has enough power for your case. [pause] There is a fountain made by Rose which has the same effect.

RED: Is there a way to bring the fountain water here or anywhere else where a diamond could fit?

GARNET: Yes, but we don't know how much water will be needed to unite your pieces.

DARK RED: Can I see this place? Maybe I can think about a solution.

GARNET: Let's go to the Warp Pad.

All of them went back to the house. Steven wanted to go too, but all the gems told him to go back to bed. Next, the warp pad was activated and soon they found themselves in Rose's Garden, which was full of green bushes with roses.

DARK RED: Nice place.

RED: It's beautiful.

DARK RED: Where's the fountain?

AMETHYST: This way! — She said, walking ahead.

Even at night, the garden seemed to have a light of its own, as if everything around it had a magic glow, giving the place a mystical atmosphere.

After a few minutes, they arrived at the fountain made of light stone with a statue of Rose Quartz in its center; the pinkish healing water flowing out of the statue's eyes.

DARK RED: The place is big, but it's not enough for my diamond size. — She said as she changed her physical form, growing 10x the height she had before.

The act impressed Amethyst, but made Pearl worry. A misstep and Red Diamond could destroy the whole place. Pearl looked at Garnet to check on her reaction, expecting to see her as desperate as herself, but the fusion was only demonstrating her usual calm with her hands on her hips.

DARK RED: The fountain is small, but the space around it is good. If we could put or build something that could get the fountain water, there wouldn't be a risk of me destroying anything when reforming.

PEARL: Unless you lose your footing and end up falling over the fountain.

Dark Red changed back to her common size and faced Pearl.

DARK RED: I never heard of a gem who lost her footing while reforming.

PEARL: I had never heard of a gem who had her jewel broken, nor a gem who could travel through space without a spaceship, even less a gem with two personalities. Yet, here you are.

DARK RED: Alright. [pause] It doesn't have to be so close to the fountain. There's still a lot of space there — she said, pointing to the direction they came from. — Would that please your excellency?

AMETHYST: That would be Pearlfect! — She said, laughing and Dark Red joined her.

Pearl got mad, yet she said not a single word about it. She just turned around and left, walking to the Warp Pad.
