RD2 - 012: Red and Blue

Red Diamond spent the whole night walking around Rose's Garden, thinking. She thought about everything she had lived until then as a diamond, about what she was living on Earth with those gems and about what could happen when her pieces become one. Her head was so full that there was no way she could relax enough to sleep, even less after Garnet warned her about Steven still being able to invade her dreams at a great distance.

The night was troubled, but soon came the morning and – even if the diamond couldn't understand why – she felt good with the arrival of the sun's warm light. She slowly took flight until she was hit by the star's rays and felt some of the heat that came with them. Even though Gems' thermal sensitivity was null, the sun didn't seem to reach and heat her body, but rather her essence.

She went back to the ground when she noticed the Warp Pad being activated bringing Garnet, Pearl and Peridot to the place.

RED: Ready to start? — She asked with renewed spirit after a dark and tormented night. The day with its welcoming light was making everything look less scary and not so bad.

GARNET: It's good to see you so excited like that — she said with a smile, getting closer to the diamond.

RED: It's good to feel like this — she said, smiling back.

GARNET: Then it's best for us to get to work before you run out of all that excitement.

RED: In case it runs out, you better be close by.

GARNET: Why is that?

RED: If I start getting grumpy you just have to take your glasses off and my mood will skyrocket — she said, taking the fusion's visor before the other could stop her, being able to look at Garnet's colorful eyes. — That's what I'm talking about!

Garnet playfully pushed her away while taking her glasses back from the diamond's hand and putting them back on; they were both laughing. Pearl and Peridot just looked at each other awkwardly.

GARNET: I'll think about it, but only if both of you behave yourselves.

RED and DARK RED: That'll be hard.

Garnet and the diamond laughed again.

Several hours passed with the four of them working. The construction was finally taking shape. The water channel was already ready, next they needed to build the pool walls.

AMETHYST: Wow! You've already built a lot! — She commented, approaching the others with Steven.

GARNET: Someone is very excited today, — she said, looking at Red Diamond, who got a little embarrassed.

RED: It must be the planet, — she said, shrugging and smiling while the others laughed slightly. However, suddenly her expression changed to serious and alert. — There's a spaceship here, — she said, warning the others.

PERIDOT: A ship?!

PEARL: How do you know?

RED: Silence! — She shouted as an order in such a way that no one dared to question her. She seemed to be trying to listen to something. — It's Blue's ship, — she said, then she took flight.

GARNET: RED! WAIT! — She tried to call out to the diamond, but Red didn't hear her or didn't pay attention to her.

Red Diamond flew, following the movements of the blue hand-shaped spaceship from a distance, seeing when the blue palanquin went to the ground. The blue diamond landed close to Pink Diamond's palanquin and walked there. Red Diamond landed a little far away, hiding between the bushes so that neither diamond or pearl could notice her presence.
