we need each other (Sonic x Shadow x Silver)

Chapter 18

Sonic's pov

Me and silver were watching the whole thing but we didn't interrupt for some reason.. but now we understood rouge's intentions, we didn't know she was hurting and it made me feel extremely guilty that I was never a good friend to her either, I had assumed she had completely joined eggman and I didn't try to imagine what it was like from her own perspective, I didn't think if there was a good reason for why she was doing these things.

When rouge got hit with the frying pan, we jumped into action.

"Sonic? Silver?" Eggman exclaimed as he wasn't expecting to see us

"No it's coconut and blueberry" silver said rolling his eyes

"Ugh. Why can't something go right for once" Eggman groaned in frustration and sent a couple of his badniks to attack us, they were tough this time but me and silver managed to fight them off

Eggman noticed he hadn't got any more backup, so he made a run for it, honestly, I would chase him, but I was too focused on rouge and shadow to even think of chasing eggman, I knelt down next to shadow and rouge, shadow woke up first.

"What- what happened" shadow woke up groggily

With tears forming in my eyes, I hugged him tight "shadow, oh you have no idea how much I've missed you"

Shadow hugged me back and hugged silver too, rouge woke up then, rubbing her head.

"My head hurts" rouge said blinking a few times

"I am so sorry rouge, I had no idea what you might've been through, I'm the worst friend you ever had, I should've been there for you, all this while when you didn't seem like yourself, I should've tried to check up on you, I should've tried to help you, but no.. I didn't" I hugged rouge and she hugged me back

"Don't blame yourself sonic" she smiled "I should've been able to confide in you, to confide in all of you, I had so many friends who could've helped me, but I let eggman use me" rouge turned to shadow "and shadow, you have no idea how sorry i am, it might not be easy to forgive me, I betrayed your trust as your best friend, i stooped so low, I-"

"Stop talking already and just give me a hug" shadow said opening his arms out for rouge to hug him, rouge hugged him "I'm sorry too, for not making you feel safe enough to tell me your problems"

"It's not you, it's me, I was very stupid and immature" rouge hugged him tighter, I almost cried seeing how wholesome the moment was

"I think we better start heading home" shadow said smiling as he pulled away from the hug

We all agreed and we started to go back home, tired and exhausted but we've learnt new things, to trust in each other and to talk to someone when we need it, to value relationships.

We went home that day, Amy baked all of us a nice strawberry pie, knuckles, tails and I decided to talk to each other and just have fun, that evening was peaceful, something about felt... good and relaxing, I was going to be able to sleep a little bit more peacefully now.

A/N: so that's all of it, I hope y'all enjoyed it, sorry if I y'all was expecting ch 17 and ch 18 a bit earlier, but I've been busy with school and I was trying to enjoy I was going out a lot during August so I didn't have time to just sit down, think and write.. I love you all
