Rouge's pov
I took a step closer to shadow, he was lying unconscious, i didn't know whether to continue with the plan or just.. stop, suddenly, every wholesome moment we've ever shared came rushing through my head and I couldn't hold it in, I burst into tears.
"I'm such a traitor" I muttered
I decided not to continue with whatever eggman had in mind, even if he promised me a home with where people would appreciate my efforts, I didn't care, I turned to face eggman.
"I won't be going further with this plan" I said
"Oh" eggman looked at me on surprise "we've come so far, do you really want to give you everything you've worked your wings for? Don't you want to finally meet people who will appreciate your outstanding efforts"
"I don't want to throw away everything I've worked for, and that's why I'm not going further with this plan, I've been foolish to even team up with you in the first place and don't even try to act like you appreciate my efforts, we both know damn well after this, you might toss me away, or use me or... worse"
"Oh.. rouge, are you serious? Do you know how much time and effort I've put into this, can you not realize how far you've come" eggman said with pleading and desperation in his eyes
"I've come so far.. so far in my insanity, all this time I've been hurting have really lead me insane, it made me go mad, I wasn't myself anymore and you manipulated me, took it as an opportunity to find someone to help you with your dirty work because you can't do it alone even if you tried a hundred times"
"Don't try to gaslight me, if you really cared for the safety of your "friends" why would you even agree to team up with ME, me of all people, I'm the man you and your so called friends are fighting against" Eggman said slightly raising his voice, he was getting impatient
"Yes, I was foolish, but my eyes have been opened" I wiped the tear on my cheek and carried shadow "I'm taking him back"
"Oh no you don't" eggman laughed "orbot! Cubot! Get her!"
The next thing I knew, a frying pan came flying towards me and hit me hard in the head, everything went black.
