"SO! I just got here, and it's already creeping me out. Right now, it's a new moon. I hope someone gets this, because I got no flashlight and the rustling sounds around me are getting less and less distant. Wait--I think I see something." The wind blew into it and the person picks up speed, and you can tell because of the panting into the tape. "This is a really old recorder, so if somebody could make this into a tape, it would be really helpful. Let's just hope someone actually finds it-- *grunt* I got up to this patch of dead grass. I might camp here, but might not. Hey-- is that--" More static. "NOPE! I was wrong! This place is meant for people to get lost. Where is the exit?!!? IS THAT A FENCE?!!? No way. I need to go check it out. Seems like the things are closing in on me. (distinct) I got past the fence, and now I'm heading towards the forest. There's just too many people out there that could really put me on edge. I couldn't use another punishment at home. This--*STATIC* it's only the beginning. I can stay at my secret base I made in this forest a while back. I got stuff there, and it could help me survive. I think I got a flashlight in there, but I'm not sure. Until then, you can wish me luck. Because I can't die here. No, I can't.  I'll be back home in the morning and hopefully, I'll be able to make another log for my folks. I swear I saw a big figure, and he didn't look too happy. But just warning ya. If you ever decide to go here, don't go at night. Because I heard from the paper from the other town, that they have a mental hospital with some patients that say if you see him, he'll (REDACTED) niks ruoy nepo pir ll'eh (REDACTED)" And the recorder made some funky sounds, and finally it stops. "Wait, but where is he? The location he began to say was pure static, and the last part was only static and no info there."

"But that means that we can't record a new message, right?"

"Not unless that we have more tapes, which is least likely, since we have mostly phones and paper around the house." I started to pace around. "Who made this log? And where are the others?" Jerald shook his head and told me to calm down. "I got really shooken up about that last part. I don't know if investigating further in is gonna let me sleep. C'mon, I'm tired. We got all day tomorrow to do your detective stuff." So we went to sleep. But this time I didn't hesitate.

Gabe POV

The storm was showing no signs of stopping. I wonder if the fall festival was still gonna happen. Not at this rate. I sighed and went downstairs. Jane was in the bathroom, combing her hair. Again. "Why do you do that all the time?" She ignores my response and keeps on doing it. But I didn't care. I had super short hair that exploded all over my head. I use my favorite baseball cap to contain it from blocking my view. As I shoved the remaining hair inside my hat, I sat down and opened up my sketchbook. Jane came down then with a red bandanna in her hair. I get my pencil and start drawing a giant rat invading a city made of cheese. I laugh at my drawing. Jane comes downstairs. "What are you drawing now?" She looks. "That's funny," she says sarcastically. I draw another one. It's a new action fighting comic:

tea guy: knows tea-kwon-do

latte dude: knows ka-latte

I show it to Jane. "You get it?"

"Uh, no, not really." I don't care, I'm gonna keep on making it. So I did, while it kept on thundering like crazy outside. For a second I thought about screaming 'shut up' outside, but that would just make me sound stupid. Hey, that gave me another idea!

"Hey, Jane! What rhymes with stupid?"

"I don't know any rhymes, but if you wanna find the perfect match for stupid, I say you go look in the mirror."

"Thats's a great idea-- HEY!" I hear her laugh in the other room. If she wasn't my cousin, I would hate her.

Besides that, the rest of the night was boring. My uncle was in the living room, watching TV. I figured he might be watching another one of those horror movies, since there was a bunch of weird sounds coming from there. Yup. But it wasn't that interesting, so I got bored quick. The problem was I wasn't tired, because if I was? I would be asleep. Jane's diary was not in its usual spot, so that definitely wasn't an option. I read some crummy books that she had, or threw some of my pillows across the room. Waiting so I could fall asleep, something seemed out of the ordinary. The wooden tile in the floor was.... out of place? I went to check it out. Sure enough, somehow it was something I had stopped looking for, but somehow came up. It was Jane's diary. Dang, she's GOOD at hiding! Too bad I have good luck. I laugh in victory and open it up. Let's see what she has. Maybe she wrote another log. Quickly, I noticed that I had forgotten something very important. If she caught me, she would explode. So I went to the bathroom and locked the door. Classic. She would never find me here. As I opened it, a bunch more pages had a bunch of notes and stuff like that. I was only interested in the good stuff. Lately, as we've been hanging out with our new pal Geff and his brother Jerald, she's seemed less of herself around them. Geff, specifically. So if he was mentioned in this log, it would be proof that she likes him. Even though I tell her it it's true, she's not that girl who's SUPER obvious about her likings. No...she's very different. Too different, I think. I scoffed at this answer. Sometimes my head gets filled with thoughts that I wish I could erase. My hands were shaky. I could read this later. I really need my sleep. Other people can mess up their eyes, but I'm not one of those people. I put her diary back and switch off the lights. My head would import more creepy thoughts if I saw her come in.

 GEFF POV

Seriously. Each day I feel like an older guy. When I got the flyer, I immediately had two thoughts. On one hand, it's better to stay home and not drink beer and crash cars. But on the other hand, I really want to meet more of the community. I've seen a bunch of fun people. So you could guess I got a bad case of indecision. I hoped that Jerald would support me, but no. I don't blame him. There's about a million things that could go wrong. But there's also some that could go right.

Right?
