I was on my way to home

I was on my way to home. Today is the day we meet Mr. and Mrs. Mathew for the marriage proposal.

The moment I stepped in all eyes were on me. And amidst all there attention I only got a girl looking at me.

And the first thought that came across my mind was she's beautiful.

Get a grip Kabir! There is no thing like love.

All the elders were talking and Mr.Mathew suggested that me and his daughter should talk privately.

And there both of us couldn't utter a world. How can you? Like it is so awkward.

Later that night, I was thinking about today.

More specifically Ruth.

She was beautiful.

But still I don't like her.

Her laugh, her eyes and the way she talks with my parents, everything about her was beautiful.

She is a total different person from me.

Fuck all this! I am not ready to let anyone enter my life and make a chaos in it.

I tried finishing my work, so that I could take Ruth for lunch. This was said...I mean ordered by my and Ruth's mom.

I called Ruth.

On the call..

Ruth: hello?

Kabir: umm... It's me Kabir. I actually wanted to ask if we could have lunch together?

I was so nervous. Neither an exam nor a business deal, not even loss in business makes me this nervous.

Ruth: yeah, sure!

I sighed in relief. What the hell is this feeling? Just a yes made me so happy?

Kabir: OK. I'll pick you up at 1:30?

Ruth: Hmm. I'll wait for you.

Author's pov:

Kabir and Sameer both work for the same company which was established by Emmanuel and Jay.

Kabir's dad (Jay Oberoi) is a business man, and Kabir's mom (Amrita Oberoi) is a international level kathak dancer and a teacher.

Kabir's pov:

I finished work a little earlier, the reason is that Mary aunty told me that food is very important for Ruth.

I called her when I was closer to her office. When I reached, I came out of my car and stood leaning on it.

Later she came and I opened the door for her. As I sat down she asked me...

"Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
The moment we reached the restaurant, I could see a cute smile dancing on her face.

"Aunty told me about your favorite restaurant." I answered as I could feel her questioning eyes on me.

"I can order anything?" She asked as soon as she saw the menu card.

"Yeah. Order anything you want. It's on me."

"Why will you pay the whole bill when we both are eating? We'll spilt." She said with a pout.

When she saw the waiter she quickly tied her hair in a messy bun saying that she doesn't like her hair disturbing her while she eats.

Unlike the day when we first saw each other, I thought the awkwardness was long gone.

Though I am not into love or anything but it's good to be in talking terms than to be awkward the whole life.

At home.

"Are bhai! Kaisi thi aapki date?!" Sameer said wiggling his eyebrows in a teasing way.
(Bhai! How was your date?!)

"It wasn't a date." Whom am I fooling though. I knew it was a date, but I didn't want to admit it.

"Accha? A boy and a girl going to have lunch and are not even friends, that is not considered a date?"

Was it really a date?
