I came to the event along with all the family members. I actually regretted not coming earlier and help Ruth with all the work but I had some work too. I am trying to change my routine and give more time to my family members, especially Ruth but I've been a workaholic for so many years that it might take some time to get back to my older self.
We were the first ones to arrive so it was pretty quite but Ruth's staff was roaming around the whole area just to make sure everything is set. Kavya came and attended us. She said that Ruth is apprehensive about the event and is backstage helping the models. She also added that if she sees any one of us she might burst out crying.
I really wanted to go meet her but I didn't want to mess this event for her. All of us sat in our assigned seats. Yes, the seats were assigned but only for family and other designers which were specially invited By Ruth. I looked around the whole setup amd it was beautiful. Ruth is perfect at this. I mean, it's her work but it still looks flawless. Unlike me, she works less hours but she still is so good at her work.
The whole place filled up with people. There were designers, paparazzi and Ruth's friends. The announcer started with the announcements and the show started. The designs were a work of art! A novice like me or should I say the tacky person that I am, liked the outfits she designed. It's not just because it is her who designed it but they are actually gorgeous looking dresses.
After all the models showcased the design, it was Ruth's turn to walk the ramp. When the announcer announced her name, the curtains opened up. She was standing there, looking gorgeous, waving at the audience but I could see her hands were shivering. And then she looked at me. Something in me fluttered. It was a feeling I can't explain, but maybe she felt something too because I saw her eyes change. I never understood how people read eyes of their partner but know I experienced it.

The ramp ended and now it was just a dinner for all the important guest. I was standing with Sameer. He was talking to someone and I was just standing, fidgeting with my leg and then I saw Ruth in front of me. She started off with an apology as she couldn't give time to us but I interrupted her saying that its her work. Sameer, Ruth and I had a talk and later on Kavya called Ruth saying that someone was here to meet her.
We could see Kavya and Ruth talking to this huge dude. At first Ruth was very happy and hugged him immediately. I'm not jealous or anything because I know that this event is filled with her college friends but I think someone is jealous right now.
"Bhai, aapko kya lagta hai? Kon hai ye aadmi?" Sameer asked me. (Bhai, what do you think? Do you know this man.)
"Must be a friend. Teko kyu panchayat hai?" I replied. (Why do you care?)
"Aapse bhi zyada height hai iski toh." He said completely ignoring my question.
We brothers didn't have much of a difference in height. Sameer was 5'9 and I was 6'1. But that guy is somewhat 6'4 I think. A little while later, I could see Ruth coming our way while she linked her hands with that dude.
