Leo and Jackson continue to walk but Melanie stood still with crossed arms.
The two boys turned around to her. "Why aren't you walking?" Leo asked her.
"What did you two do?" Melanie asked back.
"What do you mean?" Jackson piped in.
"I mean you two were super late, quite, acting suspicious. So what did you do ?" Melanie said, her arms still crossed.
"Well.." Jackson and Leo shared a gaze.
"Now you're scaring me" Melanie said and walked over to them. "Let's do this on our walk, Ryan is waiting for us and I don't want her to be mad at us for being late."
"Remind me again why didn't she come with you instead of going straight to the lakegrass?" Leo asked Melanie.
"Uh, she had to talk to her brother about something, I think" Melanie answered.
"About what?" Leo asked.
